so far I have used Nair, Veet, and shaving. My next experiment will be self waxing, I have a pretty good idea of what should and should not be waxed. I have a huge problem with ingrown hairs from shaving which is why I am looking for a new method of removing body hair, I just don't know which method will reduce the hairs from curling and growing under the skin the most. I hate that, I spend hours each week carefully tweezing as many as I can, so that the skin can smooth back out, and being extra careful NOT to break the skin in such a way that it will scar. also, I leave the hair on my arms since it is very fine and very light....but there is a lot of it. and the depilating creams burn me. it isn't severe, but is very annoying.

I've had bad experiences with waxing. Be careful if you're going to self-wax; it's very easy to misjudge the temperature and apply it when it's too hot and cause burns, or leave it on for too long and then it will break instead of pull properly.
If you still don't know how your skin will react to waxing, my advise would be to try it with cold wax first (the kind that you warm up with your hands before applying, for example) or to go get a pro wax for the first time, so you know what it's like when it's done properly.
Me, I can't get waxes because my skin is so delicate that the wax sometimes comes out with a fine layer of skin as well as the hair, and I also get bruises. To add insult to injury, when the hair grows back I also often get ingrown hairs no matter how much I exfoliate. I end up having to dig out the little bastards with a needle. It's just not worth it. :/
