Waxing...

Don't know if this is the right place or not... Anyway...

My husband really likes a smooth shaven vagina, and I would love to give that to him, but shaving causes... complications. After I shave and the hair is growing back (usually starts "budding" the very next day) I become very sensitive and even my panties rubbing on the hairs causes extreme discomfort. So much that even the thought of sex or anything/anyone touching me down there causes me to cringe.

We have discussed waxing, but I am scared of the pain and have read that some women have even had skin RIPPED from them when being waxed!!

I really want to find some way to be smooth for my man, but Nair seems to harsh and waxing is just... scary! Anyway, does it hurt as bad as I've convinced myself it does? Can they wax my lips? Can I do a home wax with my man? What are the risks of doing a home wax?

You might want to have a look at my DIY Brazilian Honey Waxing post. Don't use Nair down there! Be sure, before you try the DIY, that you go to the salon and get it done professional. They can do it quicker and with less pain than you would for the first time. You need to get the hairs weaker before you attempt it yourself.

My wife faced the same issues. Her experience is that when she shaved everyday - or nearly everyday, she had fewer issues with sensitivity and ingrown hairs. Chemical depilatories are way too harsh for use on your vulva - they say as much right on the label.

Once my wife found that she loved being smooth as much as I did - it enhanced her sexual response and feelings - it was a short road to permanent laser removal. You have to have dark hair and light skin for it to work - redheads need not apply.

Laser is not perfect - she still needs the occasional razor swipe or two - but its vastly reduced and there are no more ingrown hairs or other shaving hazards.

We know nothing about waxing or sugaring - sorry.

BTW - I'm shaved as well - smooth on smooth is the best!

I use depilatories designed for the face. I have sensitive skin, and it works well for me.

I like waxing but I find I'm too impatient to wait for the hair to grow back out long enough to rewax so I just stick with shaving and its little annoyances
