Yes, he knows I use implanon. I've told him about the effects it has on my period and when it will expire etc.

We feel that birth control is both partners responsibility. Neither want an unexpected surprise. He should ask...and want to know.

Yes. As a married couple, if we can't talk about something as basic as birth control then we don't need to be together in the first place.

True that! My hubby got snipped during my last pregnancy, so need to talk about it anymore!

Yes. It's not just my responsibility, and I think men should be educated about birth control the same as women. I also tell my partner all about my visits at the gyno even when nothing is wrong!

Very briefly: "My tubes are tied - here's my discharge papers from the hospital as proof."

I mean, what else can be said?

Of course! As others have said, if we couldn't talk about something SO basic (and essential) as birth control, we couldn't very fairly call it a relationship.

Agree...completely agree...if you can't talk to each other about birth control should you really engage in activities with each other that require it?

My partner knows about all of my gyno appointments, and he's very supportive of my choice in taking an oral BC. Theres no reason i shouldnt share my health information with my long-term partner.

Of course. It affects the both of us, why would I keep it a secret or not discuss it with him.

Absolutely! I tell him nearly everything! I can't imagine not talking to him about birth control.

we have...but it was more me talking about it at him than having a discussion! He thinks since it's my body I am allowed to do whatever I feel is best regarding birth control.

I'm okay with that, but sometimes I really want to whine about birth control....ha!

Well obviously it's both partner's job when it comes to birth control, a girl can't get pregnant by herself. It would be a red flag if the guy doesn't want to get involved because he SHOULD be just as knowledgeable and involved about the types of contraceptives as the woman.

I am looking at changing my birth control and I am always asking my husband what I should use. His response is always... "I don't know I have never had to take birth control." He is okay with me taking whatever I want to but I think he appreciates me including him on the convo.
