When I was 12, I was partially shaved for the first time pre-surgery, (& for others throughout the years). The regrowth was so itchy & irritating that I didn't even think of trying it for myself until my 30's. When I removed it all, I had the same problems, plus a painful chafing feeling all the time without the buffer of hair, & no, powder didn't help. So, I decided to try just trimming & found I have the same problem as with shaving in that the cut end of the hair is blunt, scratchy & irritating. I don't like the feel of stubble anywhere on the skin. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be to go down on someone with any amount of stubble, not to mention the unattractiveness of red bumps, etc. At least when it's removed by the root, the regrowth is a naturally soft, tapered tip. My skin is too fragile for waxing or chemical removers, (but I'm going to try the No!No! on my legs). Apparently, my skin is just too damn sensitive, so for my groin, I'm au natural.
