I am constantly in the mood the week before my period comes. And then once I'm on my period, it scales back a lot. It can be really messy during the first couple days, when flow is heaviest. I've had sex during the tail end of my period before, and it was alright. There's nothing unsanitary about it, especially if you and your partner are already fluid bonded (if you're not, there might be some complications that I'm not aware of). Just put down a towel or something in case there's a mess and then wash it afterward. Most exercises help with cramping because they increase blood flow, and sex is no exception.

I can't do the mess of sex while on period, it can be avoided. The best is to use some sea sponge - it mimics the spongy tissue of the vagina, and it absorbs the blood. When I was recently in Germany, there was actually a product at the sex shops called sex sponge!
But I prefer to just have sex without vaginal penetration for those days - anal is good, as is oral, as are certain toys.

My boyfriend doesn't mind having sex with me during my period at all. It does help with cramps, and lately, I've been noticing that sex/masturbation during my period actually will shorten it from a week to 4-5 days. We just put a towel down and go to town, and we haven't had to wash the sheets yet! I've known a few people who like to have sex on their period in the shower, but I haven't tried it yet.

I definitely enjoy sex on my period, and it was actually me who needed convincing. He plain said he didn't care, and now I view it as simply a small obstacle to overcome. He says now that it can be pretty nice, since there is "extra lubrication".

Orgasm while on my period is an incredible relief for cramps. Worth it for that alone! But we both find that we have a few days of our periods where we are super horny. Usually steer clear of penetration sex at that time just because we don't feel like dealing with clean up. Hands or a strong vibe through a thin pad works great. That or shower sex. Super easy clean up.

My Fiancé always jokes that I am horniest when I am on my period, and insists my hormones are just way out of line. lol. But yeah, he doesn't mind the blood at all, but usually prefers using a condom, especially if it's a heavy flow. Being on the pill, I usually get pretty light periods, so that's not usually an issue.

We have sex during my period, but because I'm on the pill, all but the first day is pretty light. Since I have an IUD I rarely have periods, I get the cramps and acne flares up but I get just brown gunk for one day or two. It is so light that I don't even consider it a period. I've used Instead for years and swear by them. The guy may be able to feel the cup if he has a large cock, but rarely does anyone say anything about it. We just throw a towel down and have tissues ready to wipe up.
