So, I was on the pill for about 2 months and randomly forgot to take it one day. Shortly after that, I decided to stop taking the pill and start relying on condoms with my boyfriend because the pill was making my depression flare up. Shortly after, I got a short period that only lasted about 2 days. Later, my boyfriend and I did the deed and it hurt like crazy! He said I was tighter than he's ever experienced with me and I could feel a lot of pressure. I mentioned it to a friend and she said she had that same thing when she was pregnant with her 3rd child.

Then, I had an appointment with my therapist and told her that I've been extremely emotional lately and she randomly asked me if I could be pregnant! 2 people asking me got me all curious. I've noticed that not only does the sex hurt, but I've been getting a lot of random bruises on my legs and now on my shoulder blade...on top of the major mood swings. It's still super early for me to test because I shouldn't have my period again until about the 19th.

I'm just curious, anyone have symptoms like this when pregnant? The short period it what started the whole thing...

Hey sweets! There's always a chance you're pregnant. I spotted when I got pregnant and had "period symptoms" that were actually pregnancy symptoms.

Two things that are usually big tells are changes in your sense of smell (it gets stronger) and changes in your breasts. The nipples start darkening and will become tender.

Don't freak out until there is something to freak out about. Coming off the pill does really weird things to the body while its busy trying to adjust to its natural production of hormones and their respective levels. So there will be more or less blood at times and for more or less days until it regulates itself. (Tip: having sex regularly helps with this.)

Early pregnancy tests are decently accurate and remember any line with color is a positive test. Back it up with a visit to a clinic or your doctor.

You can message me if you need anything else. Good luck!

Having a 'short period' when you lightly bleed for only a short period of time, could also be implantation bleeding, which is also totally normal if you're pregnant. So it could be that it wasn't a period at all.

I do also know, that when you stop taking anything that contains hormones that your body goes through an adjustment period.

Forgetting the 'short period', when was the first day of your past period? It might not be too early to test. I would suggest grabbing a test with pink dye since the blue ones are famous for false positives. If your test comes back positive, like Stormy said, get in with your doctor and have them check things out.

I wish you the best and that everything works out the way you'd like it to!

I do also ... more
Yeah, the blue tests are little bastards. I prefer digital these days. You either get a positive, a negative, or an hour glass. The hour glass tells you the test is defective.

They sure are evil! The only thing with the digital ones (at least the last time I was testing for pregnancy, it might have changed since then) is that you can't take them AS early as some of the other ones. I've always had great results with the First Response tests.

I have to a agree with Stormy. Sense of smell goes through the roof and rather then tender breast like i get when I get my period, I had extremely tender nipples only. I have had spot or "implantation" bleeding as well.

Do a test, doesn't matter how far along you made be. If in doubt to a test, and if you are at all confused on about the results follow it up with a visit to the doctor.

Good luck xoxoxox

I took a test today and it was negative. Something still feels off with me though, so I'm going to give it time and if I miss my period, I'll take another. My mood swings could be from PMS but they seem much to severe.
