QUESTION about missing birth control pills vs how likely is it to get pregnant if you miss a pill?

Well I apparently missed a few pills that are active ones and the last period I had was in February and I have seen NO sign of a period since then, and yes during the times I missed the pills, we had sex. I must have thought i took it and went back to see I hadn't. I feel stupid! =/

How likely is it that something happened and I'm pregnant? I have not gotten a period in March and it's almost april now.

The newer pills usually require daily pills to be effective.

Your GYN should have told you to use a barrier method for the remainder of the month, if you missed even one pill.

Two months and no period? I'd take a pregnancy test. You need to know so you can take care of yourself.

If you didn't get a period last month, how did you know when to start your next Pill package?

The insert on the package, as well as a sticker on the Pill Case should tell you to use a barrier method if you miss a pill and don't take it the next day, or if you miss more than 2 in a month.

Please find out so you can take care of yourself. You need to know, as you shouldn't be continuing to take your Pills if you are pregnant.

Please take a pregnancy test.

I had my period last month (Feb), not this month yet (march). I know to take good care of myself if I am, i have a 3 and 4 yr old =] just kind of worried because i noticed march is almost over

I would take a test to be sure. Or go to your doctor and have them take a test.

6 days (Thurs - Mon) is when i misplaced the pills and missed, so 6 days since last one; i took 1 last tuesday and i'm taking 2 2nite to back it up, but idk if that worked, because when I missed the pills was last week, this week I'm on day 2. idk whether i should get a new pack or stop pack, because usually u are suppose to get some bleeding within 2 days of missed pills and i have had 0 bleeding since last month. idk much bout birth control and my dr is a idiot - she says shes never had a patient get preg on pill. i plan on switching to a diff dr office, but i go back in july for check up to get 1 yr of prescription pills to get at walmart.

FYI - never missed a period except the 2 kids i have; I've been on depo shot, iud and pill; pill is the one that i get period every month. been on it almost 2 yrs with no problems

Honey, I know you can take care. I'm just worried for you.

I know when I was on the Pill, I got my period exactly the same number of hours after I took the last Pill, either 2 days or 4 days later.

I just want you to be OK.

The Pill won't effect the effectiveness of the pregnancy test. But, usually they need you to be at least one day late. The pharmacist who fills your pills should be able to help you figure out what to do. Usually, if you miss more then one pill, you are supposed to use a barrier method (condom, spermicide, Sponge, diaphragm etc) until your next period starts, from the day you missed your first Pill.

I was going to say it depends on the exact formulation you're taking, but 6 days without a pill is long enough regardless of the pill you're taking. Take a pregnancy test ASAP.

thanks. it was around Feb 5 or so, because when i got my tongue pierced i think i was on my period (tmi) and it was feb 7 when i got that done, i know for fact i have not had it in march. it's always on white pills; i confused myself badly by misplacing the pack and starting off where i thought i was at. i ALWAYS get mine week 4 day 3 at night around 7pm its weird. but since I am assuming it's week 3 1/2 now of pill, it'd be next week, but march ends in 11 days, so that's when i'd be late for sure if i dont get it by april 1. because my sister always tells me if you miss a pill or don't take one for 2 + days, then u will get a period right away on day 2, but thats what i dont get is i haven't gotten any bleeding from when i missed pills or anything. i wasn't worried til i looked at the date. and I take Mononessa 28 - Sprintec

I'll be fine either way whether preg or period. i'd just prefer getting my monthly lol

Sounds like you should take a test ASAP. I think you are already late.

The thing about not taking your pills for two day and you start bleeding, is not true for all women. I stopped taking my pill 3 months ago and I did not have any bleeding until period time.

You're 12 days late, give or take. I'd take a pregnancy test right away. If you are pregnant and are going to continue the pregnancy, you probably want to get off the Pill as soon as you find out.

When I've been 12 days late, I'm usually pregnant.

of course i'd continue the pregnancy; welcome it with open arms. just a shock if a blood test says yes. I gotta figure out when to make an appt. thank u guys for helping me figure it out. i'm stupid when it comes to BC knowledge because before 2007 i had no need for it; married and bc helps but this is a big mistake i accidentally made =[ i been going to bed really early and that's probably how i missed some of the days.

Yep.

BTW, I missed 2 pills, had sex once and ended up pregnant with twins. So, the chance is there. Definitely take a test.

Take a test and try not to stress. I was really stressed about stuff last months and ended up having no period just spotting.

1st i thought about it was last night or earlier today, so not stressing and haven't been stressed for like 3 weeks or so now. i am gonna ask a friend from church.

HPTs don't work on me for some reason, didn't with my kids either time so I gotta wait til probably april 1 to get it done, by then it'd be LATE.

I haven't even gotten spotting yet and no sign of a period; not stressed either. I have 7 days to get it, and next tues. i plan to get blood test done
