Products That Are Awesome During (& After) Pregnancy

Contributor: Red Red
I'm pregnant, and like (apparently) a lot of pregnant women I am obsessed with all things relating to that, it seems. Recently I started shopping around EF with my pregnancy (and life-with-baby) needs in mind. I've already picked up Blooming Belly Cream (which I am loving) and a liberator shag throe to use as a waterproof (and soft) baby play blanket. It's not sold on here, but I am also fairly certain I will be using my liberator escape as a baby play pad on my hardwood floors.

I am thinking my Liberator Wedge might start coming in handy as a side sleeping aid (although it might be too stiff and or too high, maybe the Jaz would be better?), and I am way into the idea of using a wand vibrator to help with pain during labor (a la Susie Bright)

Does anyone else has any zany sex-toy-as-pregnancy-s wag ideas/tips/whatever?

Congratulations Red!

You probably know already that orgasms in late stage pregnancy can kick start labor. That may be the only thing I didn't try. I imagine you're already well equipped for that.

First of all, congratulations!

Second, those sound like fantastic ideas. I can't really think of any other suggestions off the top of my head right now, but I am kind of curious to see what everybody else comes up with.

The JimmyJane Contour M massage stone might help during labor when pressed carefully into your back during contractions, too.

You could use Sliquid Splash intimate wash, water it down, add some tea tree oil and 1 tsp baking soda, into a baby wipe container, fill with warm water and dip wash cloths into it to clean your baby's bottom after diaper changes. I used to use Dr. Bronner's with the same recipe and it was wonderful. I would make a new batch every other day in the winter and a new one every day in summer or if I used a wipe warmer.

Also, many of the Liberator shapes would be good during labor. And for sitting up while nursing. For nursing and sleeping with babies, you need something that is VERY firm and will raise your baby either to your breast or even with your breast when you are lying on your side. I'm not sure which shape would do that.

Congrats on your pregnancy.

I've never been pregnant so can't help you there, but...my nephews have, since we bought it, used my Liberator ramp (the big one) as a slide with the fabric case on it! It is the perfect size for a little indoor slide for a toddler and they don't know what we use it for when they aren't around! The older boys (5 & 7) have used it with the cover off (so they stick to the microfiber stuff) as a floor lounge to lay on while watching cartoons too. They know the rules here...no shoes on or near it!

Congrats and good luck!

Congrats! I just had my baby 7months ago and now he is crawling!
The liberator Whirl might come in handy for you. It would be nice to hold onto if you are on your side a lot of the time. I spend a lot of my labor up in doggy position because he needed to move off of my hip bones to get down into the birthing canal. It would of been nice to have the ramp to lean up against! Maybe some candles that you like the smell of for relaxation.
These might be good if you get engorged breast or anything like that also.

Oh, the Heart Massager would be great for engorgement! (I should get some of these for any stray clients I still have.)

Congrats on the crawling. As My Man used to say, "OMG, she's crawling. NOTHING is safe!"

When our youngest started crawling, I have a funny story:

One evening, after asking the Man a half a dozen times over a week or more of crawling and the baby breaking things, to put Baby Locks on the cabinets, and his saying, "Yeah, in a little bit." and not doing it, I got out the Dremmel tool. (I'm not really good with power tools, so this is my go-to tool.) I put Baby Locks all over the house.

The next morning, I nursed the baby and then her older sisters took her downstairs to play. I fell back to sleep. I am woken by absolute screaming from the baby, and loud laughter from her sisters. I ran downstairs asking, "What is that baby crying about?"

My older girls are rolling on the floor, the baby is screaming and banging on the cabinet in our Entertainment Center where the video tapes are. "She can't get the cabinets open. She's freaking out!" The kid was hysterical, red faced, crying, banging on the doors, screaming, pounding her little feet on the floor and then looking at me and going, "Mama? OPEEEN?"

Uh, no, no OPEEN.

Thanks! I know how the whole nothing is safe thing goes. I also have an almost three year old! He thinks that it is okay for him to get into whatever he wants. My toddler figured out how to break all them child proof locks. I got up one morning and found him in the kitchen eating the Nesquik powder. It was all over the floor. I was wondering why the whole house was so quiet.

Not sure on how far along you are, but I know that nipple stimulation is a natural way to bring on contractions. I remember looking it up there is some kind of pattern to it, so you do not bring on too intense contractions right away. So maybe you will want to get something that does that.

Also do not forget any kind of kegel exercise product. Of course for once you are ready to use them after birth.

This would be good if you want to stay at home for awhile in labor. It would be just like an exercise ball. That is if it comes back in stock.

congrats my littlist is a year old now it goes by fast. All I can say as far as sex and what not AFTER baby lube.. lots and lots of lube. If you intend to breast feed it will be much needed. During pregnacy, I couldn't have sex to many complications so can't help you there
