Personal experience with breast cancer--or cancer scares????

Contributor: js250 js250
I have had a couple major scares, but luckily they were found to be cysts in my breasts, not cancer. My latest one had me pretty worried. There were numerous lumps in one area of the breast and so off I went for a mammogram... turns out that it was from the impact of the steering wheel against my breast when I was in the car accident. It caused over 29 cysts to form in the tissue. I learned that:

--Severe impacts will cause damage to your breast tissue and can either cause cysts or might develop into tumors.

Awe I am sorry to hear that hunnie that is really scary. Mine is nothing near that but I had a scare about 2 years ago at the age of 24 I felt a tubal shaped lump in my left breast it was tender, I was told that the ones that hurt or were tender were NOTHING to worry about it was the ones that cause no discomfort. I was put on Loratab pain meds to help with the discomfort and pain until I was able to get my insurance company to approve a breast ultrasound. My doctor wanted me to have a mammogram but my crappy insurance company (county assistance insurance) denied the request because I was TOO YOUNG to have breast problems. It was swept under the rug til I went back to the doctor demanding something be done, I was scared I didn't know what was going on. I was then approved for a breast ultrasound the results were determined "that is just how my breast tissue grows" which is odd that it wasn't discovered before then. Since then the lump has gotten bigger and when I went to the local health clinic for my annual female exam more concerns were brought up but since they got the ultrasound results they tossed the concerns out the window. I don't have insurance right now so its kind of stressful wondering but hopefully I can get seen soon to have it all checked out again to be on the safe side of things.
