I have decided to do some serious research on Parabens. Is there any one who has or knows of someone with breast cancer who had elevated levels? I actually would like to write an article for sexis once I have completed this research.
Parabens research anyone affected?

The original discussion started based on a 2004 article (Darbre) that reported finding paraben levels in human breast cancer tissue. Estrogen has a known effect on breast cancer tumors, and since parabens exhibit weak estrogen-like activity, the theory is that parabens likely affect breast cancer tumors as well. To date, no study has conclusively linked parabens to breast cancer. Additionally, parabens have been shown to be safe in products with concentrations up to 25%. Typical paraben levels in cosmetics are well below 1%.

Here is a report assessing the safety of parabens in 2008: link
This is not to say that parabens do not have any affect on breast cancer tumors. However, no scientific evidence currently exists definitively demonstrating a causal relationship.
If you search PubMed, you will find several scientific articles researching this topic.

I don't know anyone, but I just did research myself for an article on sexis. Sad to read all the effects that parabens can cause.

Thanks kindred. I was just noticing in all the reviews the references to parabens. So I started looking it up. I found an article on NIH website. very interesting. The government doesn't seem too concerned and there are no criteria for manufacturing. I was just being curious. Hey I smoke and I know that isn't good for me. I will check it out further, Thanks kindred and Unfulfilled!
