For some reason when I was browsing the internet, I can across women's stories of losing tampons. Personally I do not get it, there is no where for it to go. So there is no losing, it just gets stuck. Anyway, has this ever happened to you? I was surprised at how many women said that it did, on other blogs. Do not worry this is private voting!
Lost tampons?

I really dont see how this is feasible either. Where would it go?

It's possible for OB tampons to get behind the cervix, but nothing would ever really be lost. I know some women have forgotten they already had one in and inserted another one (which by the way is largely how most cases of TSS come about) and I've heard of teenage girls who weren't aware you had to remove it before inserting another one...and the occasional "oops did we just have sex with a tampon still in?" moments. That's about it, though.

I did have one of those "oops did we just have sex with a tampon still in?" moments that Stormy mentioned... even then all I had to do was push it out to where I could grab onto it... thaaaat was interesting, but no... I've never "lost" a tampon.

Losing a tampon? Never happened. I just don't understand where it could go to become lost lol

Not sure if it's what you're getting at but a friend of mine went on a tubing trip during her monthly. Somehow, at some point during the day, it must have fallen out because at the end of the day she couldn't find it in her or in her suit.

It might be possible without underwear, but that's a lot of friction for it to slip past!

I've never lost a tampon, and I don't think it ever really becomes "lost". I think sometimes they might get wedged in the posterior fornix, but it's still not lost.

I've used only a few tampons in my life but never had this problem. One the other hand, towards the end of my period it's sometimes hard to reach the stem of my menstrual cup.

I had a really weird thing happen once, many, many years ago. I usually use OB tampons with no applicator, but I was using a different brand with a plastic applicator. When I took it out of the wrapper it looked a little weird, but I couldn't tell that anything was really wrong, so I used it anyway. Come to find out, it had another half of a tampon in there that got inserted but that wasn't attached to the removal string. When I removed the tampon later, the half a tampon stayed in, but I was not aware of it. It actually came out on it's own some time later and boy was I shocked! I called my OB/GYN office and asked the nurse about it, but I was totally fine. I can't remember now how long that half a tampon was in, but it was quite a little while. After that, I only used OB, since I could inspect them really well. And now I use the DivaCup, so no more tampon drama!

i've had to fish one out many a time after being too lazy to take it out before screwing.. but never had it totally stuck so bad that i went to the ER.
thank god!
thank god!

This is why I don't use them god awful things.

Perhaps the girls this happens to are simply too afraid or unable to stick their fingers all the way in to search for their tampons? This is the only explanation I can think of.
08/30/2011
I agree, its possible for them to be forgotten, and sometimes medically retrieved, but never "lost" :/

I have never lost a tampon but I have forgotten it was there prior to PIV sex.

That's possible. The tampon could have been a bit beyond their reach.

That's weird.

I don't get the lost inside of you aspect.....
BUT that being said this last cycle. TMI I was going to the bathroom, unfortunately strained a bit and pushed the tampon out. I wouldn't have known if I didn't hear a weird 'plop'.....

My aunt forgot she already had a tampon in and put another one in. When she realized there was another one there it was "behind" her cervix so to speak and she couldn't reach it enough to pull it out so she had to go to the gyno. Not lost so to speak just out of reach. Lose one no. Stuff one too high I can see that. I for damn sure would get that sucker out myself if this happened to me.

I can see it getting stuck up there, but losing it? Don't think so.

Never happened to me. Thankful also never gotten stuck.

Yeah. He forgot to take it out before sex and it got pushed WAY in there. it's so wierd because you have to "birth" it.

I did once forget that I already had a tampon in and put another one in at the same time. That was awkward.

I have never lost a tampon. However I hear this story from my mom-in-law how she lost her tampon while swimming in the ocean. If that is considered "lost".
