Labia surgery: will you do it?

Personally, I wouldn't. Labias come in all shapes, sizes, and colors naturally. There is no "normal" and I wouldn't want to go through surgery to "fix" my sensitive parts unless something about them was causing me pain or discomfort.

I feel the exact same way about this. I would never get surgery on something that didn't actually need it.

I would never shame someone for wanting to have the surgery done as long as it is what SHE wants for herself. But it is still important to keep in mind that there is no "normal"
I would not do it myself because I'm happy with my bits as they are, with regards to both sensation and looks. But if there were sensitivity issues or pain/discomfort then I would consider it.

I would never do it. I think that's just another invention to make women feel crappy about ourselves. Plus who knows what could go wrong.
12/11/2012
HELL no.
12/11/2012
I wouldn't. I like the way everything is shaped down there. Unless things were really out of whack, I wouldn't want surgery on my lady parts. I don't knock plastic surgery in general because there's things I'd love to get done if I had the money, but no knife is getting near my vagina.

Unless there was some kind of pain or discomfort, I would not.

I love my mismatched labia, so no.
12/11/2012
I know I'm a guy crashing the party, but I love the female vagina, no matter what shape or size, but I'm really turned on by larger labia. Please don't buy into any of the BS, and unless medically needed, there is no need to change, alter or shrink the size of your labia. Beauty comes in many shapes and forms, and I'm sure you are very beautiful in that department.
12/11/2012
No--I have had so many surgeries that were necessary that my doctors do not want me to go through any more operations--too risky for my health.

I don't think that there is any "normal" and I don't like the idea of women (or anyone, really) surgically changing something about them to "fix" what they perceive to be wrong or inadequate about their body. You should embrace what you've got, unless there's a valid medical reason to alter it. That's my opinion, anyway. I don't like reinforcing notions of what's normal, attractive or desirable. Everyone is different, and that's wonderful. And everyone is into different looks, too.

I use to want to, until I had an ex boyfriend who should me the pleasure of have a larger labia
12/13/2012
NEVER! Every woman should be proud of and comfortable with her body, there is no "normal" and nothing to aspire to. In addition to it being unnecessary it can even be dangerous and has been known to decrease sensitivity in the vulva in more cases than not. Not worth it for me!

Nobody should ever influence how you treat your body. Unless there is a medical reason, I am strongly against cosmetic vaginal surgery. Women should love every part of their bodies.

Simple answer: NO!
If I suffered some dreadful injury that left my vulva looking badly disfigured....then maybe.

Not in a million years.
12/14/2012
No, but I'm very comfortable with the way mine looks and it's not like I'm seeing it all day every day anyways...
12/14/2012
I wouldn't. I like mine the way it is haha.
12/14/2012
I have personally thought about it and once I get the confidence to flop my vagina out to a surgeon for a consultation I will just dream of getting it fixed. I have been told mine is fine the way it is and then I have had comments made that just make me hate it so to feel better about myself yes I plan to find out what it would cost to get it fixed.

But remember your external labia changes throughout the month depending on your estrogen levels and the labia does have extra blood flow when you are turned on. I wouldn't risk it.
12/14/2012
A few months back I would have said yes. One side of my labia is notably larger and protrudes from between my outer lips just enough that, during my period, wearing a pad could quickly become abrasive and irritating. So it was more for comfort reasons - I don't mind the asymmetry (though I used to, when I was younger and didn't know that labial asymmetry was normal).
The issue's pretty much been solved by my switch to a menstrual cup (tampons were always way too uncomfortable, so I didn't use them much), so now I'm going to say that no, I wouldn't. My labia still occasionally gets pinched by my clothing, but so rarely that it's mostly a non-issue.

I can understand it for women whose labia protrude so far that they are regularly being pinched by clothing, or that intercourse is painful for them.
I don't really understand just wanting to have a porn star appearance. After all, how many people see it? Is it really that big a deal? Your gyno isn't grossed out by it unless it actively has worms crawling out of it. If your partner sees fit to criticize, then you can point out quite fairly that s/he isn't packing a vision of beauty either. Genitals are weird-looking things.
Also, have you noticed that guys who are concerned with having a porn star pussy are not exactly carrying a pants-Adonis? Tell him you'll get labiaplasty when he starts waxing his penis and balls, gets a rod implanted so it's perfectly straight, gets all moles and freckles removed, and perhaps starts putting some cosmetics on it so that it perfectly matches his skin tone. If he's that concerned with your genital "perfection", perhaps he should start being concerned with his own first.

No way (answering for my GF). For me...I'd say don't do it. Large labia are awesome
12/23/2012
I have large, thick labia and have not heard one complaint.
What do you mean it gets in the way? If anyones labia are big enough to get in the way, mine are, but I've never felt they were.
I saw an interview with a doctor who performed that surgery once. He said that women come to him all the time with completely normal sized labia telling him they think their labia are too big.

Ooh! No! Your labia are full of nerves that enhance your sexual experience. If anything, big ones are great for more stimulation. I'm sure they're beautiful.
