Forum highlights on Ben wa balls:
Pleasure balls - any differences?
is there any difference between this and the more expensive ones?
The Pleasure Ball-Huh?
Ok, so Im checking out the photos on this thing and I still can't figure out..is it just a vibrating ball? Does it open up at all, twist or anything?.
New to Kegel Balls
I have never used kegel balls. What do you suggest for a beginner...which ones, how longs, etc?
Metal Ben Wa balls with a string?
I am looking for metal ben wa balls with a string! help!
Smaller Ball Gag

I do, but it's not something I'm strict on myself about. I'll do a few when I think about it, but I haven't went out and bought expensive products just for it. I'm mostly concerned about getting old. LOL. Since I've read that the exercizes can be useful in the future, such as when you lose bladder control, I've been more diligent about doing them. I work out enough so my cooter is the last thing I want to have to work out. Lol. I still think it could be useful and certainly wouldn't mind trying the Bedroom Kandi balls for excersizing! They look cute so that might encourage me to actually use them. LOL. As for tightening, I want to keep mine tight and youthful, but my partner says it's too tight as it is. I can't say whether or not it really is tight, but I like to think he's right about that. Lol. But as far as tightening it, the only reason I'd feel it neccessary to do that would be if I thought he wasn't enjoying it. Doing the exercizes hasn't ever made a difference for me when it comes to orgasms. I've never had anything too large in my cooter either though.

I do.
I have some acquaintances who are into the whole homeopathic, homebirth scene, and they went to a seminar on kegel exercises. They said that the proper way to do a kegel is to sit in a chair, with your back straight, and your feet flat on the ground. Then to contract your kegels, and imagine a string pulling them up, which will help you to pull them up. Hold for (I don't remember...) maybe 20 seconds (?) and then release. And repeat for goodness only knows how many reps.
That said, I do my kegels, but not on a routine basis. Besides being useful for bladder control as you age, they're also great for sex. Not because you're tighter, but because it makes sex more enjoyable.

Technically, you can do kegels sitting down, standing up, lying down. I prefer them sitting down strictly because you can tell if you're doing them right or not. If you're doing them right, you shouldn't lift off your seat at all - as you would if you were just tightening your butt muscles.

If you feel any soreness in any muscles, you aren't doing them right! You should not feel your abdominal muscles contract, or your hips flex or your legs tighten. Only your PC muscles will be working.
A string is one visualization that works. I've also heard of elevators. You start on the main floor and elevator up to the second and so on and so on. I don't personally like to visualize, but I am very conscious of the muscles as I contract and release and I think that's really important to do kegels right.
Another big thing with kegels is not just how long you hold it at the top but how long it takes you to draw up to the top. You should be contracting the muscles, when you first start out, up to the top for 5 seconds. Then hold at the top for 5 seconds and release to the bottom for 5 seconds. Continue this until you feel ready to move up in lengths. It should be a few days of this...
Then you can increase to a 5 second contraction, 10 second hold and 5 second release. You could of course do the contractions and releases longer, but I find anything longer than 5 just gets exhausting to fast. Most professionals will advise that you do 15 - 30 contractions per session, 2 - 3 times a day. You should be aiming for between 30 and 80 reps a day.
I do kegels regularly and have for as long as I can remember - even before I knew that that is what they were. I really enjoy doing them and honestly are my favorite to do building up to sex - because it turns me on so much!! I don't conscientiously count out how many I'm doing, but I'm sure it's upwards of 120... I would really like to get a kegel exerciser or two and it's been on my sexual bucket list to wear ben wa balls daily since 2010.
A great kegel exerciser, that is relatively cheap (*winks*) and relatively easy to obtain (if you lower the bar... *smiles*) is a nice hard penis. One of the The Boyfriend and I's favorite things to do is play a game where I try to make him cum just from contracting and releasing those muscles. Haven't gotten there yet, but I blame that on him more than me
