I'd agree that outside stimulation is probably fine. Vibes, there may be a very minimal risk, but dildos would be fine, as would regular pee-pees.

Is it safe to use vibrators when you're pregnant?
12/09/2010
Definitely, it's safe!
12/11/2010
I'm not sure, but i would think it is.

Wouldn't you think it's best to just not use an insertable toy for 10 months??

Depends on the person and their pregnancy, but mostly yes.

I know this doesn't make a good poll question, but popularity votes could play a distinct role in answering this question.

I used vibrators when I was pregnant without any problems although when i started to leak fluid I had to stop. I wasn't even allowed to have sex and figured vibrators fell in the same category.

I've heard that it was fine from other people who have been pregnant.
06/21/2011
the wife did no problems

I think it would have to depend on the intensity of the vibrations, the duration & the frequency. If it is a "normal buzz buzz" vibe I would say it is safe. If it were powerful I'd stay away. Also was the vibe for G-Spot or clitoral stimulation.
But I'm sure you can find that almost everything is unsafe while pregnant these days

if you can put a penis in there during pregnancy whats wrong with a dildo or vaginal balls? barring any other risk factors its not a huge problem.

used them during both of my pregnancies. but did not insert, just because i never usually do.
07/01/2011
as long as it's body safe, then there shouldn't be an issue. just take care of yourself; there's nothing wrong with masturbation or sex during pregnancy
07/06/2011
I would think vibrators would be SAFER because they don't thrust like a penis does.
07/11/2011
They're just as safe as sex!
07/18/2011
i've heard from friedns are safe....but i'm by no means an expert here..
07/18/2011
go for it
07/18/2011
yes only thing my dr said when i asked about this was to only use water based lubes with them
07/19/2011
I'd be afraid for any sort of vibrations, especially hitachi ones. Myself, personally would rather be safe than sorry.
08/27/2011
I don't think it's an issue but she should ask her doctor or do some research.
08/28/2011
Not sure i agree with paris ask your docter to be on the safe side
08/28/2011
I'm not 100% sure, but I would imagine it would be fine.

I believe depending oin your sensitivity ex: material irritation and UTIs. I believe you dont want anything that may lead to complications. Therefore, I say yes just make sure the quality is top notch!

My instruction/owner's manuals from LELO caution against using a vibrator during pregnancy. I would think that outside stimulation of the clitoris and labia would be fine, but internal vibration of the vaginal canal would definitely impact the fetus since the vibrations carry through tissue. For example, when using a vibrator vaginally, a partner can feel the vibrations when penetrating anally (and vice versa: when using a vibrator anally, the partner can feel the vibrations when penetrating vaginally).
Vibrations could possibly impact or disrupt the neurological development of the fetus and there is a remote (but possible) chance that it trigger early labor. Like choosing to chance a sip of wine during pregnancy, I would chalk this up to be something one should approach with caution. I see nothing wrong with using a non-vibrating dildo for gentle thrusting, however. Just don't thrust vigorously enough to bump the cervix. less

I just read an article about using a vibrator during labor which said it was OK. Im not sure otherwise though

I'm definitely not an expert so I marked unsure. I think any sex toy company would say not to use their toys while pregnant just to protect themselves from possible lawsuits. All I know is my wife used them internally during a previous pregnancy and now during our current pregnancy and no ill effects or extra-early deliveries so far. She's never been high-risk or anything. It may be one of those things where you have to know your own body.

I think it's about as safe as actual sex during your pregnancy. But if you're friend isn't comfortably inserting a vibrator while pregnant than stick to a clit vibe only.
08/28/2011
As long as you're careful I don't see why not.
08/29/2011
It's safe to have sex I would think that it's safe to use a vibrator. Although considering each pregnancy is different I would say ask your doctor just to be safe.
08/29/2011
I've never been pregnant, but I would assume that it would be safe. It's safe to have sex while pregnant, so why not use sex toys as well.
