Has anyone used any form of hypnosis for childbirth? My husband and I are taking the Hypnobabies classes. I've gotten so much out of it, most importantly confidence. I was terrified of giving birth before the program, and now I feel not only comfortable with it, but looking forward to it. The main focus of hypnosis for childbirth is to reduce or eliminate pain in labor. That would be great, but even if it doesn't work quite as well as I'm hoping, I don't mind because my whole attitude to the birth experience has changed. I'm just focused on bringing my son into the world safe and sound, and loving him. I would highly recommend Hypnobabies to anyone.

I haven't, but I have heard about it. A lot of the childbirth methods involve some sort of hypnosis to ease the pain. That being said, I don't believe in full-on hyponsis. I think of it more as a way to enter of state similar to meditation. How "well" you can be hypothesized and how much the pain is masked is very individual. Some people swear by it and others say it doesn't do a thing.
