I know that many women postpone theirs (the first time, usually) in fear of it being really painful or not knowing what to expect. My first one was very uncomfortable (moving around of the speculum) but not painful. How was your first one?
How was your first cervical smear test?

Mine was horrible. I had it done when I was 18 because I was having severe pains in my abdomen. After the did the pap, they had to do a pelvic ultrasound to make sure that it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy. Thank goodness it wasn't. Turns out I just pulled a muscle.

I had my first one before I got married because I wanted on birth control pills so they'd be in my system.

My first one wasn't painful but it was uncomfortable and I felt embarrassed.

I had never been penetrated before my first pap smear when I was 18 or 19... so, yeah. It was a pretty upsetting experience. I haven't had one since but I'm sure it would be a much more casual affair this time around.

I was 16 yrs old, getting ready to go on the Pill. It was uncomfortable, as it still is, and only one, when I was in my 20's, has hurt. Although, the last 2 I've had down here in the south, the women that have examined me seem like they're searching for the Lost Ark. I go out of there wanting to ask them if it was good for them, cuz I am sore! I think I look like someone just getting off a trail ride!

Mine was over before it was done and I didnt feel a thing!
Please dont prolong getting this done!! My sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer that could have been caught early on or prevented with regularly done pap smears!!! I urge all women to take it seriously and get it done in a timely manner!!!
