I've taken Plan B once and, about 4 years later, took Ella. (Both Morning After Pills.) I didn't take them because I am "super reckless" I've been having sex for well over 20 years, and sometimes even while using well planned birth control, accidents happen and I don't want to get pregnant because of an accident. Our family is complete, 3 kids. I've had 5 pregnancies with 2 miscarriages, and neither my husband nor myself want to take a chance with my poor health and any more pregnancies.
I had no side effects from either drug, I got slightly queasy after taking Ella, but our toilet backed up a few hours after I took it and I had to bail the thing out, and that could have been the reason I felt a little sick. As soon as I washed my hands and sat down, I was fine. The periods after each Morning After round were fine. No excessive cramps, no problems.
The Morning After Pills are a great occasional use contraception for when a condom breaks, or when any other planned birth control goes awry. They are also used extensively in hospitals after rape. (What could be worse than having to carry a rapist's spawn? Not much in my estimation.)
My use was responsible. Both times we had an accident and semen may have gotten into my unprotected vagina. I wasn't going to take a chance on bringing a life into this world without planning. We're finished having children and IMO the most responsible choice was to prevent conception.
The drugs worked both times (or I wasn't even ovulating when I used them, so there was no need for them, but I wasn't willing to take a chance) and I have had no sequlae or additional problems with my cycle or my health. Using these meds was a hella better than getting pregnant when that wasn't our plan or desire. less

But I certainly wouldn't put someone down for using it...compared to an unwanted pregnancy, taking the morning after pill is much better.

Yes, I've taken both Plan B and Ella.
01/20/2013
Haven't had too and wouldn't anyway.
01/20/2013
i dont know anyone that has
01/20/2013
took it after being date raped. hard to say what effects were from the plan b and wat were from wat happened and wat were from other treatments received in er. but i am thankful there is emergency contraception.

and for those that may not know what it is ,it's birth control. it's not the abortion pill. it's a high dose of birth control hormones to stop ovulation and PREVENT pregnancy, not end a pregnancy

Yes. I didn't have a lot of safe sex in college.

No, but a girlfriend did and it made her menstrual cycle all out of wack for the next 6 months. Better than an unplanned pregnancy though!

No, but a girlfriend has and she said it made her have her period for 2 weeks, and her menstrual cycle out of wack for the next 6 months. Better than an unplanned pregnancy though..
01/21/2013
Not yet, thankfully. I hope I don't have to, but I will take it if needed.
01/21/2013
i took it a few years back and had no real negative side effects aside form some minimal cramping. i have however had friend get very sick/nauseous after taking it, so i think it depends on the person.
01/22/2013
never took it
01/22/2013
I have not.

Unlike Plan B, it didn't make me nauseous/dizzy at all, but I was fatigued for three days or so and had a massive headache near the end of the third day that lasted a few hours. The fatigue could possibly have been from something else, but headaches are extremely rare for me so I'm pretty sure that at least that was from the Ella.

I took it quite recently (so luckily the side effects are still fresh in my mind!), so I can't tell you for sure whether or not it worked for me, but time will tell! Either way it was cheaper and much easier to get than Plan B.
I ended up getting it because I had ordered Plan B from a pharmaceutical website but was informed that they wouldn't ship to you if your shipping and billing addresses were different. I was pretty upset since that was mentioned nowhere on the product page or website, and they neglected to inform me until about 36 hours had passed! The site I ended up getting my Ella from had free overnight shipping, which was an added bonus (would've been 20$ extra on the other site).

I've used it twice and had good experiences both times. I didn't get the horrible nausea a lot of people do, and my pharmacist had briefed me on how to combat it anyways. It was worth it just for the piece of mind I had.

I took it because I threw up shortly after taking my birth control pill (it had nothing to do with the pill, I had eaten some bad food) and had unprotected sex earlier in the day. It thankfully did not end in pregnancy.
02/21/2013
I haven't had to, so far.
02/21/2013
I've never taken it, but I would in a heartbeat if I had to.
02/22/2013
Yes, on two different occasions. Not totally sure i needed to, but i wasnt taking any chances. Had no issues with it.
02/22/2013
Twice. No awful side effects...my stomach felt a little queasy, bleeding four or five days later, threw off the rhythm of my periods for a couple weeks, but otherwise it was fine.
02/23/2013
Nope
02/23/2013
I have not.

Had them just in case but it has never been a problem
