I can't use hormonal birth control, so I'm considering a copper IUD. Does anyone have any experience or other thoughts about these?
Any experience with Copper IUDs?

Can you not use any hormonal? I was taken off birth control pills because there were too many hormones and they felt it would put me at high risk (due to a blood disorder). But they felt comfortable putting me on Mirena IUD because the hormones are so localized that it doesn't really go much past your uterus
An IUD (whether Mirena or copper) does have certain negative things. You can definitely feel the wire. It's gotten a little bit better over months and months, but if you sit up in certain positions and stuff you can feel it in you which can be a little...odd. A lot of people ask for it to be looped because it stabs the head of mens penis.
Overall, I think the not having to think about it for 5 years (or in coppers case, 10!!) is worth an occasional "oh, wow, hey there wire!" moment.
