When the kids were younger my wife was always paranoid about them hearing us. She used that as an excuse to avoid sex more than the head-ache thing - which is also a favorite of hers.
Since then she's had a change of attitude - and the kids are older, so her typical complaint these days is the head-ache thing - which unfortunately still happens.

My son is 5 and gets put to bed around 7. He has a lot of sleep issues and isn't always asleep right away but generally by the time we're ready for bed on the weekends (I work overnights) he is fast asleep. He also can sleep through nearly anything and we live in an apartment building so I'm not worried about waking him since we already are a bit quieter.

My children never bothered us when they were young. I still try to keep my noise volume as low as possible, worried that my teenage son can hear us from his room.

We have a two year old daughter who loves to play difficult to put down at night. We typically try to have her bath done and get her in bed by 7:30-7:45. She'll fight it some nights but mostly she's out by 9:00.
We just have to get creative with it. Sometimes we'll have a quickie while she's napping, we have tons of sex in the shower after she's out. Usually that spills over to the living room or our bedroom. It all just varies day to day. Overall, we have more sex now than we did when we were dating and newly married. Just get creative!

they will walk in if we are having sex in the morning. But at night, they are sound sleepers.

No way, I have two kids one is almost three and other is only 6 months. Our sex life is not affected. We make love daily, and are great at it! We have great sex life. Just have to wait till kids go to bed that is all.

I would assume they would get in the way especially under 5 year old.

I don't have kids, yet...I can't wait to deal with this problem :/

Ours are now teens/20's, so it is still an issue. The main problems today are they have weird sleep habits and they tend to come in and out as strange times.

I voted "Yes, it's annoying !"
but I'd rather just say "yes" because I don't really find it that annoying... my kids are always first, so if they "get in the way" then it is what it is. I don't really mind it so much to say its annoying though.

We have always waited till nap time or bedtime but when we didn't we made sure the door was locked and the kids safely involved with an activity. Never really bothers us.

I have three kids...5 years, 3 years, and 11 months. The only issue we've ever had is the baby waking up in the middle of something. My kids are awesome and they haven't been an issue to our intimate life at all!

not unless they sleep in same room. babies after 3 months old usually in a crib in own room, so just check diaper and change it and feed and baby goes back to sleep. our kids are 3 and 4 yrs old, so they go to bed at 930 - 10pm at times, but we don't have sex daily - usually 3 - 4x wk on a good week. hubby works hard and is tired. im always in mood but hes not so yea lol.
