Birth control pill side effects

Contributor: vanilla&chocolate vanilla&chocolate
I have never been on birth control. However, in anticipation of the day that I will need it (with a future partner), I have been thinking about the various side effects. I have heard of the common ones: weight gain, irritability, decreased sex drive, etc. So my question is for those of you who have been on the pill: what sort of side effects did you experience?

On the pill? My acne cleared up, I had less cramps, my breasts got bigger, and I gained a small amount of extra weight. On the shot I lost all desire for sex and bled for 3 months. On the implant (what I have now) my acne has come back, but I've had no other adverse effects other than a bit of spotting. Hope this helps!

The pill that I take caused my breasts to grow, and at first would cause mild nausea. Also, I no longer have a period because of it which is very nice.

i have been on the pill for almost two years the only side effect i have notice were slight weight gain larger breats and occasional cramping (b4 taking the pill i never had cramps during my period only severe leg pain) and i took yaz and switched to beyaz (the only difference is byaz contains folic acid which is beneficial if and accedential pregnancy occurs)however unless ur insurance covers birth control i would not suggest this brand because it is 90 dollars a pack and even though i have a discount card the pill is about to be no longer eligable for the discounts so even i plan on switching when i see my doctor this july
