I was actually learning towards that one but it seems Clit-ology is a winner with most people.

I know this isn't the most helpful answer, but forget the books... and promise a great blowjob right after he goes down on you.
Then, while he is down there, be vocal. Tell him what you need, how you need it, and how it makes you feel.
You teaching him what you need will work infinitely better than a silly book.

I think directions from you are most helpful but I've heard good things about She Comes First, and I Love Female Orgasm has great authors (I've seen them speak before) and has lots of other advice about female orgasm.

Thanks for your advise, but I have actually tried the "telling." I think he is a more visual learner and is in need of a quicker reference. I can't really tell him how to please me. I tried, and it really failed because he knows the female anatomy very little. Also, I have found that even when I did give him direction, and I would get quiet in pleasure/thought, he would stop doing whatever he was doing. I figure this way he can read up on it then ask me questions as he goes.

I actually don't see giving him a book as "silly." I'm no sex expert, or anatomy expert so half the things I do to myself I can't explain to him how to do. I also have never been touched properly (heh) by a guy so it's almost like the blind leading the blind. But he can def. ask questions along with the book. A majority of how I learned to do blowjobs was off of the internet/books. I didn't know guys had so many sweet spots until I did some research.

The first time my boyfriend went down on me, neither of us had any idea what we were doing. Being eaten out is so much different than being fingered, it's difficult !
And sometimes it's hard to discuss, especially in the act. Books are awesome teaching tools, I mean look at all of the sex-based books that exist purely to teach and improve. I hope he likes it, good luck !

Might want to make sure that won't offend him before you get it, lol. Criticizing someone's sexual skills can be kind of cruel.

She Comes First by Ian Kerner is also good

Outright doing it is! Being like "hey, you suck at this." is horrible! But being like "hey, I thought you might like this book" is a more subtle and nicer form of saying "I'd like it if you were better at this...here." I've actually told him I would like him to improve and to look stuff up a bit.

Our relationship goes on the fact that we shouldn't be offended by constructive criticism, we are both beginners with MUCH room for improvement. It will lead to a better time for both me and him if I improve on the things he tells me and he improves on the things I tell him. He has a bit more backbone than to get mad if I say "you suck at oral. Here's a book." (I wouldn't say the first sentence).

This could be tips, articles you've read, other books from other websites, videos, toys that help him, etc. I just want to give him the greatest start since it's kinda weird to try to explain to him what to do while he is doing it! I'm kinda helpless in that way.
Any tips you have for me too, as his girlfriend, would be awesome too!

I actually just picked up The Ultimate Guide to Orgasm for Women
I'm reading through it now and so far I am learning quite a bit that I never knew before. It's proving to be quite helpful.
I also want to read Clitology and The Ultimate Guide to Cunnilingus, too. They might be on my order list once I'm done with this book.
