Anyone had problems with NuvaRing contraceptive? Swollen glands, or flu like symptoms?

They worked me up for everything from flu to cancer. Turns out that I was reacting to that ring, despite having no issues with the pill in the past.

Anyone else had issues with this contraceptive?

I've worked with a lot of women on NuvaRing and my own daughter has used it.

I've never seen flu like symptoms from it. It appears to have less side effects than oral hormonal contraceptives.

But, every one is different, and there is always the occasional rare side effect.

Are you in peri-menopause? That could be the reason you are reacting now, and didn't in the past. We process hormones differently (usually needing a different delivery system or dosage if we take additional hormones) when our own hormones are starting to decline.

I used the NuvaRing for a few years and never had those symptoms. The worst thing that happened was that I would spot a ton.
