My fiance and I both have ours pierced.
It hurts less than getting your ear pierced. The only downfall is you talk a little funny for 2-3 days. And if you dislike it you can take it out and the hole will always close!

This. Although I do think it hurt (me) a little more than getting my ears done.

I'm horrible with pain and didn't feel it.
My fiance is just crazy tho. She pierced her tongue herself and said that didn't hurt. I believe it didn't hurt her but most people wouldn't be able to handle it. If you get it professionally done its over in 2 seconds. I asked if it was done, and my fiance just laughed and said yes. So it was painless and quick. I guess it depends on the person tho
