A Lady's favorite yearly exam: Woman's Wellness Exam

Contributor: Mistress M. Mistress M.
As mentioned somewhere else, I took my yearly last week, ( which is now every six months for me), and my pap came back abnormal.

I have an appointment coming up with the doctor. I don't know if I will have surgery or not, or what the hell will happen.

Anyone have some advice for getting through this? I've never had anything wrong with my body thus far, so it has been a very long day.

An abnormal Pap test result may just mean that further testing and follow-up are needed. Things might be fine and you won't need treatment, but your doctor will explain everything to you. I hope nothing is wrong with you.

I agree with this. I've had so many come back abnormal when nothing was wrong. Just another one of those quirks of being a sexually active female.

if your Dr. proposes anything radical, or offers no further reasonable options to follow, get another opinion or Dr. I wish I'd done that when the supposed best OBGYN where I lived cut everything out of me unnecessarily, I found out, after the fact.
