I was mine just after, unless it's new, but I keep mine in there boxes so they never touch anything.

Every month or so, I get out the Nytrile glove and bleach spray and HOT water. I put bleach spray on the toys that can handle it, let it sit for a while. Then rinse. Then I take Q Tips and a toothpick and get in the crevices around the battery compartment (obviously, the toys that have batteries) then I wash again, and dry carefully, before storing in bacteriostatic bags, or bags cleaned with antibacterial wash.
I HATE vaginal infections and UTIs and I do everything to avoid them.

They get washed after every use.

They get washed after every use - then like P'Gell - I periodically do a thorough cleaning - but I use alcohol not bleach.

I always wash them after use. The material is what I consider when washing beforehand. I'll wash stuff like PVC before use, but pure silicone stuff I just rinse with water to get rid of lint and such.

Before and after, every time, unless I'm putting a condom on a toy, then I don't think it needs to be washed beforehand if the condom covers all of it. But I'd still wash it afterward ^_^

Always wash after a session
09/05/2010
I can't imagine only washing after every other session! O.o That sounds like an infection waiting to happen. I wash everything at least afterwards and some toys I wash again before using too. All depends on the material.

Ha ha. I don't have the couple a thousand dollars for an autoclave! Plus, my powered toys couldn't go into it. (Not that I haven't thought of it, though.)

Before and after, every time! I disinfect toys every time and sterilize on a routine basis as well.

After use....before if it's new.

b4 n after ALWAYS

I always wash before and after. Its best to play it safe.

Definitely afterwards, and before if I know it's picked up dirt, lint, or anything else like that.

Always after and depending on the material, storage, and length of time I wash it before. If I just used something the day before I won't wash it again unless it picks up a bunch of hair or something.

before and after each use. always.

Before and after every use, although sometimes the before is just toy cleaner/wipes and the after might be in two stages -- one quickie cleaning immediately after use, and then a thorough one when I'm sure not to be caught on the way to and from the bathroom.
I only use glass, metal, and pure silicone on any sort of a regular basis, though. My TPR toys are only used when there's absolutely no chance of anyone coming home early, because those need to be scrubbed before and after, plus they're noisy anyway.
Every single item I own has its own lint-free storage bag, and the TPR toys are in Sugar Saks. I don't have anything jelly that I actually use.

Before if it is new and always after. Then I put them in a zip lock baggie so they stay clean while in waiting.
10/09/2010
Before and after. I get paranoid about stuff getting on them.
10/11/2010
We don't often wash them before use, unless it's brand new. Mostly, because I wash everything thoroughly after every use, and then they go immediately into Sugar Saks, which have a bacteriostatic lining. (This stops bacterial, fungal and viral growth.)
Of course, brand new toys are washed thoroughly, and I do a complete cleaning every couple weeks, with bleach and Q Tips and even a toothpick in the crevices of the threads etc like I said before. I do the same thing after treatment for a UTI or vaginal infection. No reason to take any chances.

I rinse them off good before, and wash them after. Looking at some toy wipes to see if that would make a quicker clean up

I tend to wipe my toys off with a baby wipe before, and wash them after. Personally, I can't even imagine not washing them after, but then, I am a little OCD.

I always wash new toys thoroughly before use.
After using toys, I just line them up in the driveway and hit em' with the pressure washer at 2500psi. Not really, but that would be so cool.
Actually, I scrub them real good with anti-bacterial dish soap, rinse and rinse them some more before boiling.

I only wash them after, but I also occasionally wash the box I keep them in.

My wife and I wash them afterwords, never have washed the toys before use except when they are brand new. I like your idea of using the baby wipes for a pre-cleaning. We currently use those for cleanup of each other, but that would be another great use. Thanks.
