Condom Help!!!!!!!!

Contributor: MeliPixie MeliPixie
So, I need some help with condoms. Or, more specifically, finding better ones. Being allergic to latex, there is an extreme limit on the kind of condoms I can use. So my boyfriend and I use Lifestyles SKYN, because the thought of using the Lambskin ones grosses me out beyond belief. But I've noticed that the SKYN, because he is quite girthy, tend to uhm... "squish" the head of his penis, a LOT, and this desensitizes him to the point where he has difficulty finishing, and sometimes can't cum at all with it on.

Now, I'm not able to be put on hormonal birth control of any type due to family history and health issues, and since we started using the pull-out method, our number of pregnancy scares has increased exponentially, and I can't handle that stress. I'm finishing college this spring. I need my attention to be anywhere other than my womb.

My question is, does there exist a NON-latex condom that has the roomier tip, to help increase sensation for him? I'd love to get my hands on some, but haven't been able to find anything but the SKYN and Lambskin condoms. Any help is appreciated!

No, SKYN and Lambskin are the only ones.

I'm not a regular condom user - I only use them for toys and have no latex issues but there are a couple other types that might work for you - I'm not sure on the measurements though. Trojan Supra condoms are made of polyurethane - I'm not a big Trojan fan due to some breakage issues when I was a teen (with the Trojan-enz, not these specifically) so I never got a chance to try these. Durex Avanti has also been around for quite a while (I remember my parents using them because one of them is allergic to latex) and is also non-latex.

Good luck!

Great, thanks! I *wish* we could be not... regular... uhm... I wish we didn't have to use condoms regularly, but them's the breaks I guess. Thanks for the suggestions! Do you know where I can find those NOT online? I don't have a credit card and they don't appear to carry them here....

If you live near a large sex shop, they might have them? Or just check out large drugstores and big box stores (Target, etc.). You may also be able to request they be ordered if you go to the Rx counter at a Target or someplace like that. The staff is usually very accommodating about special requests.

I'm mostly an online shopper myself though.

Good advice up above.

Here's some more info I found on the web about those 2 types:

Avanti Bare:

"Avanti Bare polyisoprene condoms are ideal for latex sensitive condom users. The unique non-latex, polyisoprene material is sensitive, clear, odorless, and safe with oil- and water-based lubricants. From the makers of Durex, the world's leading condom brand, with over 70 years of quality experience.

Formerly made of polyurethane, Durex has improved upon and redesigned their Avanti non-latex line of condoms. The New Avanti Bare product is thinner and more sensitive than ever, and they are now substantially more affordable than the old polyurethane Avanti condoms were.

Durex Avanti Bare condoms are specially made to set you free to enjoy the pleasure of sex while being confident that you're protected.
All condoms expire 2-5 years from date of purchase.

Each Condom is Electronically Tested to help ensure reliability."

Trojan Supra:

"Ultra-thin and strong, and Transmits Body Heat for Your Ultimate Sensual Pleasure!

For Latex Sensitive Condom Users - you may use this Trojan Supra Microsheer Polyurethane Condom if you or your partner are allergic to latex.

Supra is compatible with both water-based and oil-based lubricants. Made from medical-grade polyurethane the condom is clear and odor-free. Each Condom is Electronically Tested. Nominal width: 57mm.

Trojan Condoms : America's number 1 condom. Trusted for over 80 years. Triple Tested Trojan Quality. Made in the USA.

All condoms expire 2-5 years from date of purchase."

Wow, thanks for all this info! Do you know if either of those actually have the roomier tip for increased sensitivity? That is, instead of a plain tube, it looks like the reservoir end is kind of... inflated a little? I appreciate all the help everyone is giving me! ^_^

Theres tons of sites you can look at for different brands of condoms that are non-latex like condomcountry.com,cond omman.com, undecovercondoms.com, discountcondomking.com almost any site that sells condoms online is bound to have some maybe you can go to the sites and look for a contact us button and email them with the specific condom your looking for and they can help. To name a few brands I can give you some.

Durex Avanti Bare

Lifestyles SKYN

Trojan Supra

The FC2 Female Condom

Trojan NaturalLamb

I think that pretty much covers all the brands available but You can search google for non-latex brands also.

Hello! I have a latex allergy as well, in addition to a family history that inhibits me from taking birth control pills.

I currently use the Lifestyle SKYN. I understand that they are a tighter fit, but they did just release a LARGE size. Maybe those would work better? I haven't had any experience with them yet, but I'm assuming they use the same lubricant and material.

I have used Avanti Bare, and Trojan Supra in the past, and would not recommend them. Avanti Bare run even smaller then Lifestyles Skyn, and Trojan Supra contained traces of Latex in the lubricant and were very irritating.

I have not used a female condom, but that is also an option. I'm in the process of getting an IUD, because after speaking with my doctor we determined that would be a great option for me. I would recommend speaking to your doctor about the same!

Have you considered a copper (Paraguard) IUD? I can't do hormonal birth control either, and my IUD works wonderfully for me. I don't have a latex allergy so I haven't got much condom information for you---but I just wanted to let you know that there's an incredible, efficient, affordable-over-the-lo ng-term birth control option for those of us who don't want / can't have our hormones out of balance.

PM me if you have any questions!

I use polyutherane, myself.

Also, there are lots of different methods of birth control besides condoms and pills. The pull-out method is just luck, really. It's not a good method of "birth control".
