Is it safe to use the Hitachi Magic Wand without a cover?

Contributor: (k)InkyIvy (k)InkyIvy
I just received the Hitachi Magic Wand in my latest order, and I'm not sure about the material of the head piece... Would it be safe to use without a cover, or does some sort of cover need to be used every time, even if it's just being used by a fluid-bonded couple?

If you're going to share it with people other than your primary partner, I'd suggest getting a cover for it, but I use mine without any additional parts...I just don't share it with anyone without wrapping it up (like any other toy being shared).

No, you should use a cover

You can use it without a cover on it, but the head is porous as it is a rubber material. You run the same risk with external vibrators as internal vibrators that are made of porous materials. It's best to pick up a silicone attachment like this one. You can use it without a cover, but it could harbor things you don't want it too also.

I don't see a problem, but I also don't plan on getting one until I can also get a silicone cover for it.

I didn't use it with a cover but then again it's just me. Just make sure you clean it good after each use.

The knock off AdamEve version I bought originally needed a cover. It stained easily, but the Hitachi is much better!

Need is too strong a word, but it's a good idea to cover it. Or cover yourself, considering the strength of the vibrations.

Cover is definitely optional, though there's some great attachments out there worth trying!

you dont need a cover for it. if you are worried about fluids you could place a condom over the head.

as long as you are only using it with one partner, I probably wouldn't worry. but maybe better safe than sorry?

You don't need one, as you have said you're fluid bonded with your partner.

I think that you should use a cover or at least clean off the head after you use it

You should seriously consider investing in something like the Eroscillator or the Smart Wand by Lelo. The Hitachi is too intense for clitoral stimulation. At first I'm sure it felt great but it will soon counteract itself. The vibration is so intense that it will cause desensitization through nerve damage and micro-tears. You can rehabilitate the area using toys with medical grade silicone... that is the exact purpose for the Eroscillator. Please do not ever use the Hitachi for anything other than muscle relief... on the low setting.

I'd often go with the general rule of tumb being if you plan on sharing your toy always use a cover, if you do not intend to use the toy with a partner(s) go ahead and use it without so long as it's made from a non-porous material.

If you're sharing it use a cover. I'm sure it's some type of plastic.

I would choose to cover it with a silicone cover/attachment.

As long as you're not sharing, it's fine as long as you clean it regularly. If you're sharing or get concerned, there are silicone heads/covers that'll make it safe
