Wearing a average or small size plug should have no negative effects even if worn for several hours or all night, obviously you do need to uh... poop once in a while though, so you can't keep it in 24/7 Larger plugs (especially ones with large necks) can leave you stretched out for a little while, if you continuously do this (I'm talking years of regular use) you can have issues controlling your bowel movements especially if you don't exercise those muscles.

As far as absolute longest period of time a butt plug can be inserted? As much as you want! Although I can imagine wearing a large plug 24/7 would be an eventual route to incontinence...
My record for continuous plug-wearing was just over two months straight (other than 2-3 short toilet/relube breaks per day, of course!). Mistress purchased a locking butt plug harness and has required me to wear it ever since She once caught me removing my plug without permission. Thanks to following some precautions, my body is working just fine as usual after that punishment.

That sounds about right. Just have a material like silicone or glass or metal that isn't porous. It scared me at first, because I was thinking about tampons and toxoplasmosis. But that's a completely different story!
Longest I've ever worn a plug was two hours... I don't think I'd be able to get up to a day, ever! Having a plug in except to go to the bathroom would actually help me a lot, I have really bad constipation and that would definably help me go. But I think I'd lose feeling after a while. Does she ever increase sizes on you?

I've kept mine in for several hours, sometimes overnight. Never had any problems or side effects. The muscles rebound pretty quickly.

I'm a full time wearer 24/ 7 only comes out ones a day for bowel movement and it's only twenty minutes. It's been 5 months now being a full time wearer. I can't even think about not being plug now the feeling is so great and knowing in someway it a naughty secret
