I'm not exactly sure what the title of this section means, but if it means does the amount of sex drive have anything to do with having a good time, then I'd say no as a 60-something. We no longer sit around thinking about sex all day long (fewer hormones usually mean less drive), but once we get into the bedroom, sex drive pops up and goes into overdrive. We could still get a speeding ticket at our age!
Well...?

I'm getting ready to turn 20 this fall and can't wrap my head around sex as a 60 year-old. I certainly hope I still want sex (and that my husband will want sex) when we are at that age, but I wonder how it will be different. So you say that sex drive isn't as rampant out of the bedroom... when it goes into "overdrive", as you put it, is it different from when you got excited when you were younger? Do some things get better? Do other things suffer?

You're such an inspiration. Being almost 50 and hubby 52, it gives us great hope that thing will continue. My sex drive has gone into overdrive lately- I think it must be hormones. While hubby's isn't as high, he NEVER refuses when I approach him and like you, when we get to the bedroom, things really get heated up. THANKS!!

we just started trying new things- including toys, watching porn together, and using books for new ideas..
make sure there is nothing physical going on with your wife first of all!!
Good luck!!!

Thanks for the advice. She is officially in the middle of it. Which actually puts us both in the middle of it. I love her and do not want to offend or physically hurt her. I am just trying to gain some wisdom as to what I can do. And before anyone writes talk to her about it. I do, we have and continue to openly talk. but I like to hear from others who are or have walked that path.

I thought of something that we do also. I get the daily "Dr. Laura Berman's Passion Files." A lot of what shes writes about is for the younger generation however, she does have some great articles for us "more experienced" ones. It is a short article each day so you might want to check it out. It's free to susbscribe to also!! Good luck!

This is just our personal experience, and we certainly do NOT speak for everyone in our age group. But to answer your questions:

It is different than when we were younger, because there are no fears or insecurities. No worrying about pregnancies, or who might find out, or if you won't be "good enough", etc. etc. Thus it's easier to relax into it and enjoy without thinking of anything but the sensations. We're totally into each other. Orgasm is easier, because we both know what we like, and we tend to take more time to tease each other into that "OMG I HAVE to come" stage. For Michele, she tends to get more of those all-over body orgasms than she did when we were younger (back then they were more clitoral in nature), and I tend to last longer.
As for other things suffering, the house looks like hell because we don't spend as much time cleaning as we should, and I've made friends with Emu oil ointment to keep lower backaches at bay. We also tend to use lube more often than when we were younger, because Michele doesn't always get as moist as she used to no matter how horny she's feeling.

This is a very interesting topic for me that my boyfriend and I discuss quite often. He is, lets say, a few years older than I am and his sex drive is like a monster truck to my Hot Wheels. Because of this I am often not the instigator (a small quibble between us occurs over this now and again) but turning down the opportunity is almost unheard of by me.
