Lockjaw

Contributor: Nashville Nashville
Does anyone get lockjaw when they give head? I'm good to go for about a minute but then pain sets in and my jaw will literally get stuck and I can't close it for a few minutes.

He's really thick and I wonder if it's because of his size or if there is just something wrong with me. I do know when I had my wisdom teeth pulled out a few years ago that I couldn't open my mouth wide enough for the dentist, he ended up stretching my lips so badly that I had cuts in between my lips- it wasn't as bad as the joker but it was bad, I was very self conscious until they healed!

I've tried just the head and an inch or two but he loves the base of his penis stimulated. I've tried different angles and ways of sucking and all end in the same result! Think this is something to go to the dentist about? Or do you know of any at home cures?

I do get some soreness and stiffness occasionally, but I find that it's usually because I don't chew gum beforehand to sort of loosen things up. I've found that that helps so much some days. Have you asked your dentist about possibly having TMJ, or tempromandibular joint syndome? I think there are a few folks on EF that have it that could go into more detail.

I have TMJ, but I actually don't have much problem with blowjobs. I just get kind of sore afterward and my jaw gets really tired. I find chewing gum (and singing on Rock Band, oddly enough) makes the problem worse. I would say it wouldn't be a bad idea to go to a dentist and see if they can do something for it. My dentist had me wear a mouthguard at night, but that made it worse for me. I went to a chiropractor for it, too, but that didn't help, either. I have the kind I'd have to have surgery to fix. And...now I'm rambling about it. But yeah. I'd say go to a doctor or dentist.

LOL, "not as bad as the joker"! I get stiffness but it isn't very bad. I have a huge mouth though so maybe I am not a good comparison. I think it would be a good idea to follow OneSexyWifey's suggestion of asking the dentist about it.

I am a Certified Massage Therapist in my state (MA), and I can give you some good advice. If you can, because I know it hurts, find where your jaw hooks into your skull. This is easy to do: Go to your temple, and trace your fingers down until you feel that indent where you feel it inside of your mouth. Rub circles there, be firm but not too hard on yourself. Use heat there too, like a heating pad that has a safe covering to prevent from burning, or even do what those old-fashioned Barbers used; a very hot wet towel and wrap it around your face/head.

For the base of the penis thing, there are tons of ways to stimulate that. Running your thumb in a side-to-side rocking motion while teasing his head is a great way to start, and maybe he is just big for you! That should make him happy Use a hand at the base to give a few shallow strokes while you can take as much as you can with your mouth.

I'd check with the dentist too. Mine gets sore but not lockjaw...I use vibes, my hands, and other things to stimulate the base because I have a super sensative gag reflex and can't get but so far!
Good luck!!!

I don't get the whole jaw locking up thing happening but I do get pain excruciating enough to make me cry. (Which, yanno, then makes snot run down my face. Yay?!) And I get the clicking and popping thing as I suck and whatnot.

A friend gave me a tip she was given by her dentist for TMJ. You're supposed to press your tongue really firmly against your upper front teeth then open and close your mouth, open and close your mouth, open and close your mouth. This supposedly helps to exercise that are of the jaw that is pained. I'm not sure if it works since I forget to do it as often as I should (a few times a day, at least) but it's a suggestion, anyhow.

Also, along with the heat that bodymodboy suggested, I've been told that a bit of Vicks Vaporub or muscle cream on that area of the jaw can help.

But, mostly... yeah... we should all visit our dentists about it for personally tailored advice.

I get crazy jaw pains when I visit the downtown area on my wifey. I attribute this to the fact that I was supposed to get my wisdom teeth pulled 16 or 17 years ago, and I didn't. So I have a variety of problems that randomly happen on an almost daily basis.

Another thing that I have considered is that maybe I have a short tongue, maybe if it was longer like Gene Simmons it wouldn't be as much of an issue. People are always telling me that I should go and have my wisdom teeth pulled out, but I ignore them. Instead I think about what it would be like to use a penis pump on my tongue right before oral sex. I will probably never try this, well I guess I would if I owned a penis pump, but I am positive that it would not actually work.

Sorry if none of this is really relevant you ladies, but hey, my initial thought was just to write about this reminded me of 'Trapjaw', who was my favorite He-man figure.

Now I feel like that kid in 'A Christmas Story' that puts his tongue on the pole. I am not going to buy a pump, but if I had one... yeah I would do it.

check for TMJ, it's a condition where the cartilage of the jaw joint slips out of place. it can be painful, but that's what it sounds like to me. i have it and i had to stop chewing gum because it was making it worse. i'm leery to learn proper oral as well because of it. (i'm f btw.)

My jaw seems to get locked open too- it's mostly when I yawn, although it has bothered me at "other times" too. It gets locked, but it only lasts for a few seconds and just when I think it might not go back that that time, it pops back into place, and doesn't really hurt after. Definately talk to your dentist. I told my oral surgeon about it, and he said it's fairly common, but it can get worse over time.

Could be TMJ issue, or just your normal oral opening is smaller then others. The best thing is to ask your dentist, next time you go, and say your jaw gets sore if you are "eating things like pop sickles". No need to be embarrassed. It could even be your bite is mis-aligned. A dentist can tell all those things. Worth asking.
