Exaggerating about penis size

Contributor: Gary Gary
The issue of size comes up so often. Some people say its not an issue, while others say it is. I am sure this causes a lot of people to feel self conscious and maybe even bend the truth when it comes to size.

I feel no need to lie about the size of my partner. I have NEVER lied about the size of it. My girlfriends and I are pretty freaking honest about the men in our lives It's more fun that way!

No. The topic doesn't really come up very much, though. I can't remember every needing to talk about the size with someone who hasn't already seen it.

There are so many different sizes and shapes. I think it's what he does with it (and with everything else - hands/fingers, lips, tongue, imagination) that is important. Also, if he is confident in his abilities, but still eager for feedback, that makes a huge difference too. So to get back to the point, I wold never have a desire to discuss (nor exaggerate) any partner's size because it's irrelevant. I might mention what a wonderful lover someone is however, in the appropriate setting (yes, I'm talking about you, Mr. Godiva).

I saw a poll the other day... and it just didn't seem right to me. The averages were way higher than the normal average. It just got me thinking, that even on an anonymous poll, the result seem to be exaggerated.

my partner always -under- exaggerates his size XD He's ALWAYS saying stuff like "nah I'm not as big as this dildo/that guy/that ____" but then we measure... but he never learns haha. I can't tell if it's modesty or just denial!

Neither of us has done any of the above regarding his penis, but I can't believe how many have told me they were significantly larger than they were, only to unzip the pants and find out "umm, where's the other 3 inches you talked about?" I guess some men feel cock size is everything, not entirely fellas! Honesty and an openness to explore/make your partner feel good means so much more. I'd stay far away from anyone who lied about his cock size just to get you in bed.... PS..girth always means more than length, at least to me..More than 7 inches is a waste..the average vagina can't take more than that anyhow!

I have never really discussed size with friends since college days when we were dating around and then it was just to talk about extremes (tiny or huge). Then I did not lie about my partner's size. Now that we are older and in serious relationships it doesn't come up. Other things about sex do but not size.

Lol. No. I've never lied about my penis size. Ha Ha. Kidding. I don't have one, so I don't get to say that. Lol. But I did answer for my partner -- I've never lied about his size. LOL And he hasn't either. Not to me anyways.

Wouldn't see any reason to lie about it. I do understand how it can be uncomfortable to be honest about it, but I honestly think that it's not as important for someone to tell you it's bigger than it is as people tend to think. Most people aren't going to think less of someone, surely.

Hahahahahaha. Thank you very much.

You know how sometimes certain things make more sense in a verbal conversation... maybe it's one of those. It is sex related. Maybe a better question would be, why would you lie about such things in an anonymous poll?

The worst offenders in my experience are online - where, of course, they can hide the reality away behind any measurements they care to offer. I cannot count how many messages I've received in response to stories I've published, all offering a variation on "let me know if you're ever in [name a city/state/country], I've got eight/nine/whatever inches just waiting for you."

But I'm with PassionQT on this one, more than seven inches is a waste (and even that can be a squeeze)

It's well-known that guys routinely exaggerate their penis size, especially the length, even when it's anonymous. link

I imagine most women don't deliberately exaggerate their partner's size, but simply repeat what their partners tell them (which is almost always an exaggeration).

I used to exaggerate mine when I was younger, but now I just tell it like it is. Less potential for confusion or disappointment that way.

I have met a bunch of men who seem to relate their value as a man to the size of their penis. It seems silly to me.

Absolutely no reason to! My partner is slightly above average (I personally measured, didn't just take his word for it) and we're both perfectly happy with it. I agree with another poster, girth means more to me.

Size is important to me, but average is just fine!

No reason to lie,,it is what it is. Plus with some creative measuring, I can get a measurement of anywhere from 6" to just over 8". So would 8" be correct?? I don't think so!

I'm not sure why I would be talking about his penis size anyways. And I have never asked him his size before I was with him. That doesn't matter to me, I don't get with someone for their penis size.
