Measure first.
I like this one link and use it often, the silicone is a bit more forgiving if you didn't get the size quite right.
Don't go with a flimsy one, more stretch is NOT necessarily better.
Thinner o-ring style like this link may not be as comfortable to wear for a long sex session.
I would not go with a metal cock ring initially. You really have to get the size right or you won't be able to get it on or worse, may have to go to the ER to remove it.

go with a stretchy silicone one for your first. Then move on to a metal one after you are comfortable
