I'm circumcised, I had my foreskin removed when I was in high school, due to a begin cyst. I was actually self conscious for a while due to the tiny tiny little scar you can notice if you really look for it.

I didn't vote. My husband is circumcised. My son isn't. Both seem to be happy with the state of their foreskins. I offered to pay to have my son circumcised if he wants it now that he's an adult but he doesn't.

I went ahead and voted (though I don't have a penis -- I was using my husband's penis by proxy!). He is uncircumcised and has never had a problem with it. It's all he's known and he has never wished that he was uncircumcised.

I've never been with anyone uncircumcised, but was always curious about the difference. I've seen pictures and I've heard that the glans is more sensitive on uncut men. I always wondered how they tested that assertion because different people have differing degrees of sensitivity in general. No one is identical neurologically. Similar, but not identical.

J is circumcised. If we have sons someday, I would prefer to not get them circumcised as infants, just because I don't think I have the right to make that decision about someone else's body. J and I haven't talk about that (or kids in general) yet.

I'm circumcised, happened at infancy and so I don't know what it's like any other way.

The big thing I've heard is that the foreskin makes sex more comfortable for women, since the penis has more "slide" because of the extra skin.

Probably won't have it done to the kids. They can always have it done later if necessary. While statistically there seems to be a slightly lower transmission of HIV in circumcised men it isn't nearly enough to rely on.

Voted for my partner - uncircumcised, and although he says he's sometimes curious what it would've been like otherwise, it doesn't bother him. His oldest son was as well because at the time, it was still the medical standard/norm. He then had twins that are 6 now and they are done as well, so that if they saw their older brother, they wouldn't be different as he thought it might confused them while they were still young. If we ever have a son together, we've already agreed we won't have it done because we don't think it's necessary and the older brother thing won't be an issue because his brothers will all be significantly older.

I voted for my husband, he's circumcised and wishes that he wasn't. Our sons are intact because luckily by the time we had children there were enough medical advances for people to realize that it's not cleaner or healthier to cut off the foreskin and there's no real reason why it should be done.

I'm quite glad I am circumcised, and I can't see why anyone should be majorly offended by this. To each his own. Also, I think parents are perfectly within their right to make a decision for or against.

I don't have enough experience to say either way (whether or not I'm glad), but it seems like a pretty unnecessary medical procedure for infants, and I am in general against unnecessary medical procedures (why take the risk?)

I agree, no one would say it was within a parent's right to do any other cosmetic medical procedures to their children, so why should this be?

I'm amazed about all the press about circumcision.

We are what we are because of choices made by our parents. I don't feel deprived because mine parents choose circumcision and I don't feel that I mutilated my son because he is as well.

Cool off guys - move on!

While you're well within your right to express your view on circumcision so are those that feel the opposite as you. No one that I've seen has been attacking, or really even needs to cool off..there are just different view points. And for every person who does not feel they were deprived, chances are there is someone who does. Just like while there are many people who do not feel it's genital mutilation, there is and always will be, those that do.

My b/f is circumcised. I voted for him. I have only been with one guy who was not. It is probably not PC, but I prefer cut.
