Im 23 pretty old
Honest question in this area. In your own mind....ARE YOU OLD? How "old" is "OLD" to you (in your mind) at this point?

I think it varies! I would say 70+, but it would depend on their mind more than anything.

when I was younger I used to say that I felt like I was 13 going on 73, then I then i matured. I'm 35 and I truly feel 35. not young not old right in the middle. I once delivered flowers to a 93 year old woman who exclaimed to me "It's just that I'm SO OLD!!!!!" it was so funny i loved it. I hope I get to be old and happy wondering around the liquor store (Canada) at 87 (women at work the other day) trying to find that good bottle of wine they had at the Hendersons without a crook in my back or arthritis or a care in the world.

The most accurate "rule" I've heard that I generally agree with is half the age of the older person plus 7 years. For example, it would be appropriate for a 40-year-old to date someone who was 27, but not 20. or a 65-year-old to date someone who was 39.

I will be 25 next month. Sometimes I feel "old", but not really. I know I've got a long way to go before I'm officially Over the Hill.

Im freaking old... 27 and i can feel my body changing
07/22/2012
I feel like I act younger than my age, but sometimes I know I act way older. Depends on the situation.

I'm 20. To me, old is 75/80. My mom is 62, so sixties still seems young to me. Relatively speaking.

I'm almost 23 and I already feel too old sometimes. but to me I guess old would be around 50 maybe?

As someone who works in the medical field I can say, you're only as old as you feel. I've seen seniors in their 90s that are doing better than some in their 50s.

My mind is always young but some days the body is old. I'm 56. I have friends that are over 70 that still think they are young. I have seen changes in there life's that would make me say mid 70's is old.

There is no such thing as old, at least when it applies to myself.
08/26/2012
I don't think anyone would consider me old, and for me old is a mindset, not a number. There are 50-year-olds that I might consider old, but there are 75-year-olds that I wouldn't dare call old.

I'm 25. My body feels 45-50 (lot of health problems), my brain feels 35-40.

I'm starting to feel old. My body has felt old since I was 15 (chemo has long lasting nasty effects), but my mental self has started to feel old at 25 now. I'm looking at people who are younger than me, even only by a year as "kids". I guess soon I'll be yelling at them to get off our lawn... My wife is 50, but she doesn't seem it at all. I'm the old fuddy duddy in the relationship.

You are only as old as the people you feel.
09/10/2012
I'm 42.......that's not old in my mind
09/10/2012
I'm 50 but I tell my kids I'm 29. they believe me. bless their little hearts.

Everyone has some mental image of what OLD is. Do YOU feel you are "OLD". If so, how old are you? If not, how old IS "old"????

I'm 20, but if you put me in a room of peers in my age division, you'd peg me for 35...unless they are my friends, then I might act around 17

I'm 18 and don't feel 'old', but I'm not sure when I would, or when I would consider that to be.

I've definitely met people in their 50s and beyond who I would definitely say are still young.

I'm 24 and don't consider people old until about 65+

I am 45 and I certainly don't think I am "old". I think people should really not look at a person's age as something to judge them by. Old is really a mindset not a number.

I'll be 60 this year and feel as though I was in my mid 20's and even more confident of myself now then back then!

I'm only 23 but I feel old all the time, even though I don't think anyone around me is old.

It's interesting how perceptions of what constitutes "old" change as one grows older. I think one gradually realizes that old only occurs in those who let themselves grow old.
I'm 24, but I don't even feel that old. I actually don't consider people to be "old" until after 65 or so, and that's simply because the term "senior citizen" is often applied then. Age is on the inside, and I generally find myself drawn to men who are older than me. I'd have little issue dating a man in his 30s, but if he's older than that, I'd start to worry about lifespan issues and other silly things like that.

along w/ the age of 80 & up, it's a mindset.

Idk.
Maybe I feel 25? But then again I'm not sure how an essential 25 years old should feel. And if you can feel differently aged than how old you "really" are, that deconstructs age as an essential form of being in itself, so how could you ever know how it feels to be a certain age?
