And then there are those of us who are crawling intermittently through community college, but focused more on their job because they have no financial aid...

Being in the 65, soon to be 65+ age group, I can state sex is still is part of our life. The adage "once a king always a king, but once a knight is enough" is a truism today. The toys make things last a bit longer, and add variety. Sex is just as much fun today as it was a very long time ago. Best part now, is the children are gone, and the entire house is available! We both hope to have many, many more years "in the saddle".

I assumed that bracket would be the highest because people around that age often have a lot of disposable income. Out of college but without kids, I think many people would therefore have more cash to spend on toys.
Or in college with grants and scholarships. I love how financial aid includes a bunch of extra money not allocated to anything. It's almost like the state(and thus taxpayers) are paying for my toys.

Took me 5 years to get an associates degree having to take classes part time and working two jobs. No shame in that I think

The Love of My Life and I are both in our sixties. After ending an emotionally and sexually unsatisfying marriage of many years, I spent another year saying, “never again.” Then I met her and fell in love at first sight. Years later, we are deeply in love. I had never truly made love before I met this astonishing, breathtakingly beautiful, brilliant, witty woman, who is also a mother and grandmother.

Yes, kids, our hours of daily lovemaking are loving, uninhibited, playful, passionate and sweet because we are intellectually and emotionally intimate.

I could make some people feel better and average my age in with my husband's, but it's way more my account than his.

And I make yet another notch in the 18-25 age group! Unlike most of the comments before mine from the same age group, I never had the opportunity to attend college. I dropped out of high school almost a month after I had turned 18, but had been moved out of my family's house at 17. From that moment I grew up, got a job, held down that job for a while and then by 19 started working from home, so I don't have too much disposable income, but I do have a passion for what I do, which is what makes it possible for me to work, work, and then work some more for the little I do have. I just wanted to say a good, hearty good job for those of you out there who had attended college or who are still doing so, especially the above commenter, Kallandar. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to struggle your way through college, even community college, because of financial struggles and no financial aid, but focusing on a job gives you a great backbone and I wish you tons of luck!

Good for you! My Grandparents still had a satiftying sex life well into their 70's, and my Grandma would glow in the morning so's you just KNEW what went on the night before...they also wrote love notes to each other all day giggling and smiling like teenagers. I am hoping to embarass my great grandchildren with my "goo goo eyes"!

Oh. My. Goodness.
That is just adorable. I love seeing older couples being able to keep their romance alive, whether it's leaving little notes, calling each other pet names or not being afraid to kiss each other in front of friends, family, etc. Sadly, most of the time I see couples out to dinner and they hardly share a word. I convince my romantic side that they've grown so close that they can communicate by toe-nudges or eye contact.

As for disposable income, a lot of us in the 35+ age group have kids in college. Our kids have not been awarded a single penny of financial aid, despite two in college at the same time a NO left over after the paycheck is spent on bills and groceries. We've had to make do with old savings bonds, from their infancy, a very small Trust from my father for each kid (enough for about 1 to 2 semesters at a State college) and the kids getting into debt on the way, along with us.

With the economy the way it is, even refinancing our home wouldn't be worth it because we are "under water" (meaning we owe more on our house than it is supposedly worth, the worth of which dropped by 50% about 2 years ago) and we STILL have a few living at home, so no, not all of us "older" members have the disposable income or the empty house.

*sigh*

At least we are madly in love and sex is *almost* free! (not counting sex toys and lube. It seems to be our main form of entertainment.)
