So, I got my Zook a couple days ago..it seems to be taking A REALLY long time to charge, there's something wrong with it, or I'm completely missing something?

It's blue when it's charging which means it should be done charging (I think?) But I can't turn it on when it's off the charger.. Also when I click the O button it's always red and it's been charging for at least 12 hrs.

Has anyone had a similar problem or..have any insight as to what I'm doing wrong? ...Or know how long it takes to charge

If you read the manual, it'll tell you that all Zini products come travel-locked so they don't turn on when they're being shipped. To unlock it, hold the minus (-) button and then while still holding it, add and hold the plus (+) button so that you're holding them both. It'll come unlocked after a few seconds. It may take a few tries if you're not good at it like I'm not. Lol.

EDIT: Also, it's not taking a long time to charge. Blue means it's completely charged.

I'm pretty sure I unlocked it, and it's still acting weird.

It's blue but it's not turning on when it's off the charger? unless that means it's still locked and I'm terrible.

It's definitely locked. It flashes red when you try to use it to show you that it's locked. The red is not an indicator of its battery life. You can only check battery life when it's unlocked, off, and you hold the mode (o) button. Do what I said and it'll unlock. You really should read your manual. It has excellent information on all of your Zook's functions.

I have the Zook and it should (like any other rechargeable toys I own) unlock automatically when you charge it. If the control pad gives a quick red flash when you press any button to use it, it could still be locked.

If it's actually unlocked, sounds like it's acting as though it's charged when plugged in, but that the battery isn't actually holding it.

From memory, mine took under 2hrs for the initial charge.

I also have the Zook and the way they are describing it, it is still locked. They just haven't quite unlocked it yet. If you charge the Zook while it's locked, it does not automatically come unlocked when you charge it or are done charging it. I know because my Zook is ALWAYS locked when it's not in use and I always have to unlock it, after charging or otherwise, to use it.

Just because yours works that way, doesn't mean others do.
Cause I just tried mine again. I locked it and it automatically unlocks after taken off the charge!

Maybe I'm thinking of another one. I'm not sure. But regardless, the red light IS an indication that it's locked. It's not "just mine" in this regard. The manual is very explicit. If their Zook is messed up, that's really sad and I feel sorry for them. But they haven't even looked at the manual so I think that doing so and trying the methods that it says and that I described will work.
