Why buy more expensive?

what are the benefits of buying toys >$70?
i can imagine they last longer and are made of safer materials, but are they really worth that much more?

Yes they do last longer but they also have more features and functions and I also think they are nicer looking. Just an example a $25 bullet would have a speed dial only and would be wired and would probably be the chrome plastic or have the jelly sleeve and $50-$60 Bullet would have 7 differnt speeds & 7 differnt mixed functions with a random option would also be wireless and have very nice material

I wondered the same thing, but yes, they are better. A power-queen myself, I find that the pricier toys tend to have better/stronger vibrations as well as more features and functions, and are often rechargeable. A major plus if you tend to use your toys often. Pricier toys often have the newest technology (take SaSi for example, can't find another toy like her) and usually offer warranties of 1-5 years, while their cheaper counterparts sometimes last through only one use or several months (again, depending on how often used).

I can certainly tell a difference, not just in the power or variety of vibration functions, but also in the toy material and packaging. Plus, they last.

Most of the time, you get what you pay for. When I put something into my body, I want safe materials, I also want quality. A cheap vibrator doesn't last long, it could be made of dangerous or inferior materials, and the vibrations could not be strong enough.

I think paying a little more makes a big difference. I want safe toys, that give me and My Man pleasure and will LAST a long time.

I echo P'Gell. I know if I buy something that's expensive and is made of good material and is long lasting, I got my money's worth. I'd rather have a toy last me a lifetime or near lifetime, than one I have to replace every year or so.

Well, i have a lot of pretty expensive toys, and I have to say they're worth it for many reasons:
1. More likely to be rechargable (and I hate having to buy batteries)
2. Safer materials (I'd rather have a safe toy)
3. Some of them are just unique toys that provide sensation you wouldn't find elsewhere
4. Higher end vibes are usually quieter while still managing to pack the same whallop in terms of vibration.
5. They're better made and last longer, I once managed to make a cheap vibrator in a month (admittedly I loved that vibe and used it A LOT) but still.

Ditto here for me, too. Plus, the more expensive vibes tend to be deeper and rumblier -- and less surfacey and buzzy. Additionally, as someone else has mentioned, the more expensive toys also tend to have a warranty (ranging from one year to a lifetime guarantee). They are also almost always very beautiful to look at, increasing my enjoyment of them. Pleasure involves all the senses, including visual. On that note, more expensive toys, due to their materials, tend to be odorless -- another plus, as I definitely do not want an olfactory assault just to use a sex toy!

We have a fair number of high-end and low-end toys. Some of the high-end toys are not worth the money paid - and some of the low-end toys are absolute keepers.

So why do I continue to buy high-end toys? I'm more careful - but we love steel, glass and aluminum toys - and they are just expensive - although I'm glad to say that lower cost glass toys are increasingly more affordable. The bargain hunters can thank some of us early adopters for showing that there is a substantial market for glass.

We also buy a lot of silicone - the safest 'soft' material out there. It pays to support vendors who do research, build quality toys and make them in the US, Europe or Japan - all high labor costs states. We shouldn't be slaves to cheap Chinese products.

High end non-vibrating toys can be worth the money. But for vibrators, the Magic Wand, Fairy Wand, Dreamers Bliss and a few other non-expensive toys work excellently for me, but the expensive Ina, Form 2, Form 6, Calla Lilly and Bubbles are utter disappointments.

So count me as squarely NOT on the more expensive is better bandwagon.

I do love the cheaper glass toys as well, and silicone is wonderful... it's my favorite soft material personally. I personally enjoy some middle of the road priced vibes as well (my all time favorite is my hitachi)

It really depends on the toy. Materials are worth it and so is construction, but some things don't need a high price tag to be good.

I totally agree on the smell issue. I'm super sensitive to scents and a bad smelling toy is a complete turnoff. No matter how cheap, I won't use it. So that's not much of a deal, is it?

Depends on the toy. I like the nice expensive silicone toys but I've had some long lasting hard plastic vibrators that are nearing on 7 years now.

Some of the more expensive onces also tend to have decent warranties and guarantees. (Like LELO's 10 year guarantee)

I've seen high priced toys with very low saftey material I DEFINENTLY WOULDN'T BUY. they may have alot of functions/features but no way would I spend my HARD earned cash unless it would last for years. I;d have to wait until something expensive was on sale, even then I often can't even afford anything

I agree with this completely.

SOME expensive vibrators are arguably worth the money. Others? Are a total rip-off. It depends on what you're looking for; sometimes you can find a relatively inexpensive product that works wonders for your body!

My Magic Wand lasted 32 years. Less expensive toys can last a very long time. I wouldn't expect an eroscillator to last that long. An expensive rechargeable toy will eventually stop charging all the way. They only last so long.

Glass toys can be inexpensive and will last forever if they don't break.

I kind of consider the Hitachi Magic Wand and the Wahl as "expensive" toys. (If you see the inferior, cheaper "massagers" that some stores and even some websites have, it appears these two are in the upper bracket, along with the Fairys of the wand or massager type vibes.

I guess most of our toys are "middle priced toys." Good silicone toys that are safe and have good motors in them. I don't have a Lelo, I know they're good, I just haven't gotten around to them, yet. Also, from what I've heard, they don't have the power for those of us with high orgasmic thresholds. Some Women NEED Hitachi or Wahl strength to orgasm. But, I think if I had the threshold I had when I was younger, a hair trigger orgasm, I'd probably invest in one of them.

If you're looking for a cheap dildo that isn't made of something hazardous, the glass dildos are wonderful. Just don't drop them on the bathroom floor when you're washing them! The expensive glass dildos are expensive because they are BEAUTIFUL (and one day, when I'm rich, I'll be collecting them), but the plain old clear ones are just as slick.
