I've had a favorite vibe kick the bucket permanently a few months back, and yet I still can't bring myself to throw it away for whatever reason. I'm not really holding onto any hope that it will spring back to life, but it still feels weird to just throw an investment in the trash can. My partner said I was being sentimental, but it's not even that. I can't explain it other than saying I just don't feel like tossing it out. Maybe it's because I spent good money on it, or perhaps it's because it used to be my favorite. Has anyone else ever experienced this? And if so, what did you end up doing with your old vibe? Is there a recycling alternative?
Where do vibes go when they die?

Just wanted to say I love your user name.
I kind of understand the attachment, but why not just replace it?

I plan to replace it when I get the chance. It wasn't cheap, so it might be a while though.

Curious: what vibe was it and how long did it last you for?
And i understand that. I try and clean out my toy box of either useless or defunct toys, and it takes me a bit to chuck the ones that were more of an investment.

Mechanoid Kryten: Why, we go to Silicone Heaven!
On a more somber note, sorry you lost it. I don't know of any recycling programs that take old toys, but there may be others here that would know. It depends on the material, I would think.
It is hard to part with something that was a large investment ... which is why my uncles have turned their backyards into an old car graveyard. -_-

It was the rechargeable Fairy Wand Massager (link). I loved it, and it lasted about 6 months, then I think it died due to frequent use, and improper care (I was pretty rough with it) . I've gotten a Hitachi since then, which mostly feels the void for me, but I liked that this one was rechargeable and smaller, so I'll probably purchase another one soon.

I put ours in the recycling or trash, depending on what its made from. I cant hold on to something like a sex toy. When they die, they get replaced.
