I'm just curious what people consider when they're deciding whether or not to get one (or more) vibrators. You can choose multiple answers but if you pick something like "specific brand" please share which brand.

What are the most important things to you when deciding what to get for a vibrator?

I also look for size. I pretty much know what size I like, so it is something I take into consideration.

I look at material, design, and vibration strength to start off. I prefer my toys to be at least a 7 on the safety scale, and tend to stick with silicone and plastic for the most part. I like at least three vrooms for power, and of course if possible I want it to be nice to look at. I also look at size if a vibe is insertable - I want to know I'll be able to use it!
A toy being waterproof is a MASSIVE selling point for me, and it's rare that I give a second thought to toys that aren't.
As for function, I like vibrations more on my clit than internally, though of course a versatile vibe is best. And I always read at least one or two reviews before I make a purchase. Brand isn't that big a deal usually, though I do have my favorites, as well as a few I'm a bit leery of...

Golly I clicked a lot!
For me, it's *mostly* going to be about the material, type of vibration, design, overall quality and then probably reviews.
Brand tends to come in when the item I'm looking for is expensive or if I'm on the fence about the quality or something. If I feel like I know the company pretty well and can put faith in the quality of their products, I'm more likely to get that item than the similar product by the company I've never heard of. Just as if I know of a company whose products I usually don't enjoy, I will tend to overlook them even if they have the sort of thing I'm looking for.
Price only comes into play when I deem it too expensive, usually around 200 dollars, or when the cheapness of the item is represented by poor quality/bad materials.
Color is a matter of extremes for me. It can disqualify a toy if I think all the colors are hideous and can pull me towards a toy if I absolutely LOVE the color. Most of the time though, simply not hating the color is good enough.

Usually it depends mostly on prices and reviews. I don't work and I still live at home, so I don't usually have a lot of an income.

Other would be size!

Shape is high on my list, especially for insertable vibrators.

Dang, I checked a lot! Other would be size, but really, it's a mix of the lot really. No one specific thing makes me choose a toy, only real thing might as obtruce as 'feeling'. - How a toy makes me feel by either touch or sight.
10/30/2011
I feel like I checked a lot, but I really do cross check my toys amongst other similar toys before I decide to buy. I'm extremely cryptic of what I'm going to buy.

Price, reviews, design, color, features. I chose other because the number 1 thing I look for is the right size. Over half of the vibes and dildos here are so damn big that they won't fit my anatomy! I've learned my lesson the hard and expensive way! Always, always check to make sure the size will fit me. I have such nice toys that have never even met my insides! Lol. It's a real disappointment.

I go by the material and the size.
Although I also tend to mainly look at the high end ones. I don't like cheap toys.

For any toy the material and the size/shape are really important to me but for a vibrator the noise level is the deal breaker! I have thin walls and nosy roommates.
10/30/2011
I always trust Reviews!

Noise level! I live in the dorm so it can't be very loud! Next would be size/shape of it!
10/30/2011
Size/shape, material, vrooms, reviews, noise level... basically almost everything! lol

Has to be the number of buzzes. The low buzz ones do nothing for me.
10/30/2011
I like strong buzzing so that would be the main thing I look for.
10/31/2011
I look at a lot of things. First is material because jelly and I don't get along. Then I look at strength because anything less than four vrooms will end up in my chest collecting dust. I look at the size to see if it will be too big, something I never used to look at and ended up with too many thing that were unusable. If all those things add up, I start reading reviews to see what others think and to find out if the vibrations are buzzy or deep. I prefer deep but I'll take buzzy if it's not TOO buzzy.
I didn't check design, but something that looks pretty will get purchased faster than something that isn't. Waterproof is a major plus but isn't the be all and end all.

Reviews are a big factor, however, noise level is a bigger factor as I live with others also the type of batteries it takes factors in as well as I do not have triple A rechargables. Looks like a lot of toys are going that route and I'll have to pick some up!

I look at the type of battery first then I look at the reviews. I like for the vroom to be high but the bees to be low because I live with my bf's family. Then after all that, I look at the price...Yep.

I hate buzzy toys, so I go for the deep thrummy ones. And I'm partial to specific types of materials. That being said, I have a Hitachi, so who needs vibrators?
11/01/2011
I want deeper vibrations. I want a safer material that is at least TPR of above. I want good reviews and string vibrations. I want it waterproof for ease of cleaning. (I don't want much do I?) lol

How easy to replace the battery is also a concern for me. Unless it's rechargeable.

pretty much all of the above.

A little of everything listed goes into my decision

I take nearly everything into consideration, but I voted on what I usually think of the most. I basically look at reviews and the material of the toy and decide if the PRICE is worth it. That's not to say I will decide NOT to get one based on the material alone. I just think sometimes the prices do not match the quality of the product.
