Are the lubes sold online or in specialty stores exponentially better than those by the condoms at my drug store?

The main thing I like about online is the ease of comparison, and there are many more options. With my first guy I used drugstore lube, though, and I never had a problem. And there are plenty of people who swear by KY and Wet brands. But I'm now in love with my Ride H2O

I'm going with yes, due to the fact that you get a far better range online. The drug stores often just keep the basics (at least they do here). Online I have the option of buying paraben and other nasty chemical free lubes.

I'm very particular about what lubes I'll use and the stores ones just don't cut it!

When I can go into a sex boutique (Good Vibrations is the local one here in the bay area) and they have a huge choice of lubes that are glycerine free, and the ability to "test" them out and a friendly helpful staff, it's so much better than just getting something from the drugstore that I find next to the condoms.

There are acouple of good ones at the drug store, but you will pay way too much for them.

this poll makes me want to try some new lube, not the stuff I get at target LOL!

Yes, yes, a million times yes! My local drugstores have no selection - usually it's just a variety of KY lubes, and generic lubes that are KY-like. On here you can get really, really nice lubes for a good price - it is definitely worth it! I'm a HUGE fan of Maximus, personally.

going into a sex shop was a little intimidating the first time because I saw, basically, a wall of lubes in a bunch of flavors and varieties that I had never seen before, and it was awesome. In the general stores I would try something or other and it was usually a hit or miss, especially since I have sensitive skin problems myself, but with the specialty store I was able to find a variety of options that were hypoallergenic and more "safe" for sensitive skin persons like myself to use. I love everything I've gotten, and I've been happier with them really than the ones I ever got in a general store.

I think lubes here or in specialized sex stores are better than drug store lubes. Same thing for condoms.

I don't know about the common brands, but the one I use is only sold online (that I know of.) It's natural/no parabens or other weird chemicals-and works really well.

They are way better! I only get lubes offline now that I've found eden. Sometimes eden is cheaper, somethimes they are not. I still order off here. I enjoy giving my money to Eden rather someplace like walmart or target. Even more than my local sex shop.

I actually found my big bottle of System JO H2O at CVS or Walgreens or something. It was 75% off so I grabbed it for $3. It's the first lube I ever got and it's apparently a very awesome quality one.

I can find much better variety online. Most brands on Eden aren't sold in my country.

If you and/or your partner has a vagina, then yeah, the drugstore lubes are a bad idea. They almost always contain glycerin and other ingredients that don't agree with vaginas. I prefer something explicitly vagina-friendly, like Blossom Organics or Sliquid.

For the most part. Wet is okay, but the cheapest ones like KY are really terrible. I'm not sure how I ever used them!
