Were you aware of how quickly vibrators overheat?

I was just reading on extending the life of a vibrator on Eden, and it says that using a vibrator for more than 1/4 of an hr on max speed or more than 1/2 of an hr on medium speed can easily overheat the toy. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm usually at least a 20-minute user. I like to work up to it. So, the question is did you know that they overheat so fast?

Feel free to state whether this changes your opinion on vibrators or if you worry about your use based on this information.

I often run my Wahl for a long time, if I have a hard time coming. I've run it until it was red hot. Yeah, I've already burned through one, and have three at the moment.

But, if you take a long time to come at times, unless you are comfortable switching toys (which I am not) you take the risk. Luckily, the Wahl is not an expensive toy. I don't think I'd run my G4 Elegance that long, though. It's a much more expensive toy and would be more difficult to replace.

And my JoyDivision "The Body" is nearly impossible to get in the US. I rarely turn it on at all. I broke the dial off once (or actually My Man did) but Tim helped us fix it. I am much more careful with it now. It has the perfect shape and size for me, so I want it to last.

I'm at least a 20-minute user, too, and I'm perpetually cranky about toys that are quick to overheat. I have a new-ish We-Vibe Salsa that gets worryingly hot after just 15 minutes. 15 minutes! An $80 toy! Hmph.

Like P'Gell, I run my Wahl 'til it's way too hot, too, but for its price I'm not too worried about it. Replacing it isn't a huge burden, and it's SO worth it.
