I haven't tried that specific toy, but for other toys made of rubber, I tend to try and wash the smell off if at all possible first. I'm not sure if that's one of the ones that you could effectively remove the smell from or not, but if it's bothering you you can try with maybe a warm water and soap. Toy cleaner never seems to do the trick with rubber, at least not for me.

It kills the mood to have toys made of materials that I can't sterilize. Bad smelling toys = less than desirable materials.

Oh yes. whats disappointing is ordering something from EF that is suppose to be a 6+ safety rating and it comes in stinky plastic packaging. I feel I have to spend extra time washing the smell off.

Definite turn off. I don't want it to have any smell whatsoever

It would for me. I've been lucky and not had a smelly toy yet.

It depends on how strong the scent is. If I need to put the toy right up to my nose to smell anything, than it really doesn't bother me. If the scent is overwhelming and I can smell it from a distance, than yes, it's bothersome.

I'm the same way. If it's one of those toys that fills the room up with its stink... yes it can pretty much kill the mood.

Super strong smells are a turnoff, but I don't mind mild ones.

Yeah. I get headaches WAYYYY too easily to deal with a super-smelly toy. ):

I usually wash the toy a bunch to try and lessen the smell of it. usually once I start using it the smell no longer is an issue because Im focusing on the way it feels not how it smells.

If I can smell it, I'm not using it. The smell is almost always chemicals of some sort that I don't want reaching my brain or any other sensitive parts.

ETA: Leather would be an exception, but then I don't insert leather objects.

If it is super strong then yes it kills the mood, but if it mild I generally don't care.

Strong smells trigger migraines so I can't use anything that smells strong. If I don't notice it, like some "new" smelling toys, that's ok and usually fades with washing.
