Paper in the battery compartment?

Contributor: puppylove puppylove
So I have noticed on a few of the vibes I've gotten recently, mostly the freebies, that they will have a piece of rolled up paper lining the battery compartment. I've been pulling it out but I noticed on the pleasure petals the paper said not to remove. What is it for? Should I have been leaving it in there or is it ok to pull out?

The paper is used to cushion the batteries from rattling around inside the compartment. I finally figured it out when I got my first cheap vibe from Spencer's. They caused a racket without the paper.

It might be there to take up space so that the battery is more centered.

I would leave it in, the plastic and paper inserts in the battery compartments are there to help the rattling and some to show the user which way to insert the battery.
