MiMi Help? :[[

Contributor: Hum Hallelujah Hum Hallelujah
so my Mimi isn't working right. i've tried getting in contact with customer service to try and get a replacement or something, but no dice... no one is responding. i've waited for about two days. so i was thinking maybe someone could help me fix it??

i tried to clean it with soap and water (and it's waterproof, so it should have been totally okay to do so). then i used it. after i got done, i plugged it in and waited until it was fully charged. and right away, something was weird. the red light started to blink (it wasn't connected to the charging cable) and it wasn't vibrating. so i left it alone and 10 minutes later, it turned on all by itself. i tried to shut it off, but not matter how long i pressed the minus button, nothing happened. eventually, it'll shut off a long while after holding down the minus button. and now it'll do basically the same thing, but sometimes, it'll stop right in the middle of vibrating.

i don't know what to do anymore. any advice??

If I recall correctly, EF customer service does not reply to tickets submitted on weekends, so give them a bit of time. If you're desperate, then call them first thing on Monday.

JeJoue will just tell you to speak with the retailer from whom you purchased the product (at least, that's what they told me).

A little bit of patience will have your product replaced, I hope.

Interesting. I just got my MiMi the other day. I could not get it to turn on, unless I pressed and held the plus button down SUPER hard. It didn't seem to change between settings without again having to use both hands to press the plus button. Are they supposed to be that difficult to turn on and change settings?

That is an anomoly. It's a bit difficult to turn the buttons on because they're flush, but you shouldn't need more than a finger pushing gently down.

Hmmm, I'm starting to wonder if MiMi is one toy to stay away from! I have heard a couple of others have problems with this toy.

If I was in the US, I'd risk getting one. But overseas, if a toy is faulty, I have to pay over $20 just to send it back for a replacement. Doesn't make it worth while - especially if I know the toy is known for faults.

It's worth it.

I'm one of the ones who posted about my spaztic MiMi.

Since that issue, I've not had a single other problematic moment with it. No exchanges, no fuss. I think she's just a bit temperamental.

Hmmm. Thanks for the input; I will have my husband check it out. If he has a hard time with it, I think I will send it back for a replacement. The plus button sort of looks like it is shoved under the black casing on one side just a hair. I am wondering if that is causing the problem.

Huh. That's very peculiar. DEFINITELY sounds like a manufacturing error. Hopefully your partner will be able to fix it.

Hehehe @ temperamental.

Perhaps when I have some spare points saved up, I'll get one. Just hope mine doesn't have any major issues.

I have one with no issues. well no, I shouldn't say that.. It does have an issue in that she turns herself on when she is very low on power. she spazzes all over my drawer and scares that crap out of me.

but now i just make sure to charge her more often

I'm starting to wonder the same.. It is not the first user that have problems with the mimi. I think you can find 2 o 3 users with Mimi problems here.

I'm pretty sure it must be a sealing problem with water. the only toys that for me are fully waterproof are the ones without buttons or charge port exposed. Like last Fun factory's series and Jimmyjane toys.

Read also that Je Joue recommends to use the Mimi for no more that 15 minutes, I never understood that.
