I'm sure it's not hard, you just have to make sure to clean that part.

I have reviewed this one and found the butterfly to be very flexible making it easy to clean that difficult part where the butterfly connects to the shaft.

The wings have some detailing on them but nothing that requires say, a toothbrush to be able to clean between them.

I only used the toy once, but I did clean it before i used it. I use a spray toy cleaner and misted the whole toy before washing it off. Because it is waterproof it was fairly easy to clean. The ridges on the wing of the butterfly would be fairly easy to clean I imagine, since they aren't inserted. Cleaning it soon after use would probably help as well!

Even if a toy is waterproof I would submerge it in water, a shower yes, but I never drown the thing. To answer your question, yes the fluttering butterfly is easy to clean, just use your toy cleaner and your good to go.
