Previously we were partial to name brands like Lelo, Fun Factory and Jopen. Now lately the throw away batteries toys seemed to be catching up. Better quality, better silicone (than before) and functions. Technology is def here for sex toys. Used to be battery operated were short lived. Also new companies, actually copy cats of name brands are producing good products. No surprise, maybe 90% all toy made in China. And all another company/factory has to do is copy it and change the name. It's also conceiveable the same factory make same toys for different labels.
One example is The Pretty Love Indulgence. Pretty much same as the EF Unity and others. It is very similar to the We Vibe U shaped vibe, but 1/2 the price.
We recently got the EF Layla rabbit and it is super ! So now we are trying out the EF Dancing Beads Thrusting Rabbit.
Seems EF is coming out with some good products at lower prices. Out EF Mega Realistic Silicone dildo is dual core and cost much less than competitors.

Fun Factory, hands down. By the end of 2013 my husband and I had a little over 400 toys in our "toybox." Name the brand, and we probably tested it at one time or another. Sure, there are cheaper knockoffs of the better brands, but after a few years the difference shows in the material. Never had a Fun Factory toy discolor or change in density like the others have, and the mechanical parts last longer than Lelo or others of equal pricing.

How is the battery life on these? Such as can you use it multiple times a day a few times a week and it is still going strong? Also is the dying battery noticeable over time?

We have the fun factory Drei and a review on it. You can go to our page and see it and others. When we use the Drei, it is usually for 90 mins + a session. Then recharge it. Had it for about 1 1/2 yr now. No noticeable loss of power yet. However rechargeable s will eventually hold charges shorter.

Our Lelo, 3+ yrs old now has shorter operating time. It started getting weaker about 5 months ago.
With the decent prices of reg batteries from big box discount stores, we don't mind buying throw away batteries toys now. Actually we put the batteries in the battery recycle program in our locality.
The new toys like the Unity sold on EF is powerful, long charge (1 hr) and recharges in about 2 hrs. Sofar so good. Had it about 2 months now.

I don't know that I have a favorite brand, I usually go more for functionality than anything. I do prefer rechargeable though.

For clit play, that would be the "Spring" mini vibe, which I don't know if they even make any more. For everything else, the Ellove.
