I would take a stab at a guess that a sulfate is a sulfate is a sulfate, so you probably don't want to mess with it. Especially given how expensive it is, I would hate for you to get it and then not be able to use it only to end up giving it away.

I agree that a sulfate is a sulfate is a sulfate and not to be messed with! Sorry because I would be bummed if I wanted something and couldn't use it.

It might. If you decide to try it I would definitely test it on a small spot on your skin before you use it on your entire scalp.
