Do you leave the batteries in your toys?

I know you're not supposed to, does anyone else do it? Is it true that it can quicken the death of your toys eventually?

As far as I know, it's true - it both drains the batteries and shortens the lifespan of the toy itself, though I'm not sure how drastic it is.

Thus I always take the batteries out of my toys when I'm not using them. Doing so also saves your toy from being ruined in the event that the batteries leak. It's only an extra four seconds out of my day, so I don't mind at all if it'll keep my fun stuff alive longer.

I am with Rin. I'm not sure how much it helps but I always do it.

I have been getting more rechargeable toys so I don't have to deal with these issues (because I am too lazy, and always leave the batteries in!)

I never thought about it before. I leave them in most of my toys...which will probably change now lol

I usually leave the batteries in my toys. I should probably change that, but I'm too lazy.

I used to leave the batteries in, but I don't anymore.

When I did, I found that the batteries got drained MUCH faster than if I just took them out in between uses.

I also had one occasion where the batteries somehow leaked, and it ruined one of my expensive toys.

I don't have very many battery operated toys. But if I think I will use the toy in the next few days I leave the batteries in. If I don't plan on using it soon, I take out the batteries before I put the toy away. What I do is store the empty toy and the batteries in the storage bag together. I hate being in the mood to amuse myself and having to hunt for batteries!

I take my batteries out as well and from what I have read this will prolong battery and toy life.

I don't have many battery powered toys, but I do tend to leave the batteries in just out of laziness. They're not toys I especially like anyway.
