It is dishwasher safe as long as the bullet is removed. However, be aware that a dishwasher is no better than simply washing with soap and water. Many people erroneously believe that a dishwasher is as good a method of sterilizing as boiling. (Technically speaking, what we do as boiling isn't even sterilizing.) However, dishwashers should not be considered a substitute for boiling toys.

Dishwasher safe if the bullet is removed. But a dip in the sink with some soap and water does the trick for regular clean-up time, and a dip in bleach water might be easier on the toy for sanitizing.
