Do you go for cute toys or functional toys?

Contributor: Tangles Tangles
Not to say you can't have both, but what comes first when making your play time purchases?
I put a lot of value on the functionality of a toy, but if it doesn't look attractive I will not consider buying it.

Appearance is generally what first draws me to a toy, but if the reviews on its performance are bad then I won't get it.

Thankfully I live in an age with plenty of toys that are both attractive and functional.

Function is highest on my list of importance, but I am a sucker for a pretty toy.

Cute is a very big factor, but if it has horrible reviews/rating, I'd stay away.

doesn't matter what it looks like if it doesn't work good.

Most of the times a neon, bold or pretty vivid color like turquoise, pink, purple will stand out to me, but in the end it HAS to really work for my preferences. Like Freestyle. It's ugly and the color is just blah, but it's one of my favs.

Function. I'd rather it feel good than look good.

Once it's made its way between my thighs, the how it looks doesn't matter.

I always go for function first, there are plenty of cute toys out there that are totally useless.

Doesn't matter how well it works - if it's ugly, I won't buy it.

I'm looking at YOU, Eroscillator!

Looks are HUGE for me, but function wins out in the end. I have and love the Wahl, after all, even though it's not much to look at.

I'm the opposite; I love my Eroscillator. I don't care what it looks like as long as it gets me off. When it's so hard for me to achieve climax as it is I sure couldn't be picky on what it looks like.

Function over form, definitely. There are some toys that just plain work better and those are the ones I want hanging around my toybox. Not that design doesn't matter, but if it doesn't work design won't save it.

You will get to a point were you have all the functional toys and you start getting cute ones because they are cute. I have reached that point.

For me, function wins.

Function wins for us, feeling trumps cute

I usually go for functions, but occasionally I'll go for a less-than-stellar toy because it's just so cute!

Function wins for me too. I really don't care if a toy is pretty or ugly - so long as it works for me. If it's also pretty then that's just icing on the cake. I won't get something just because it's cute.

The function is definitely more important than look. I need toys that can get me off.

This is hard, because I want both. It should be attractive enough to be appealing, but it has to work! I think my hitachi and wahl are both ugly though, but they work great! I do hear great things about the eroscillator, but I do find it's looks off putting. Maybe some day.

My priorities are safety, function, ergonomics and appearance, in that order. But I draw the line at realistic toys or things I find truly ugly, and have a strong preference toward pretty, feminine toys. All other things being equal I will choose a prettier toy, but I won't sacrifice the other features for the sake of appearance.
